I hope I don’t hurt anyones feelings but let’s face the facts about Fred, Jason and michael. The Halloween series was obviously the weakest of the 3 BUT the remake is definitely more impressive than the other 2. I admittedly, am a Voorhees fan and LOVE the remake. Faster and smarter. Beautiful. Freddy’s remake was very inventful and (for the true fan) CHOCK FULL of homages to every freddy film. (long live Englund). Wanting to see a film with any combination of these characters going at one another is ultimate but when you think about the REALITY of this fiction, you CAN’T kill Krueger. He’s not real. Jason can die, as per part 4. Michael, same as voorhees. An angry guy walking around killing people, can also die. How the hell do you kill someone that keeps coming back in dreams when he is killed? The best you can hope for is that he doesn’t come back in YOUR lifetime. Trust me when I say that I don’t like this but, Meyers and Voorhees cannot beat Freddy. That hurt to say.

These films bring back so many memories. I was about seven when Nightmare came out and I still remember my irresponsible older brother dragging me to the theater to see this and I also remember dreading going to bed for the next 2 or 3 years. But Michael Myers always inspired pure terror in me, I guess it’s the whole mute thing. Was never scared of Jason, if anything he was like the anti-hero that we rooted for. I do remember the “get off my porch” part and laughing at it, but imo the funniest line Pleasance ever said in the Halloween films comes in part 2. When the hallway is about to blow up in the hospital and he turns to Jamie Lee and tells her to “Go!” about 3 times, he finally gets exasperated and says “Get out now!”, the way he said that made me spit out whatever it was I was munching on. My brothers and I found it so funny that it actually became a catch phrase on my block after that. It got to the point where even my mother was saying it, lol! My brothers and I(all seven of us) are going to the theater Friday for the first time in about 10 years, my eldest brother is even driving up from Pennsylvania for this. Funny that it would take a famous slasher like Jason to bring us all back together. Can’t wait.
