Twilight – Breaking Dawn Release Date? & Spoilers

Breaking Dawn movie release date & spoilers (Twilight)
Summit have already bought the rights, so what will the Breaking Dawn movie release date be, and will it be split into two films?

If you haven’t read Breaking Dawn the one thing to know is that it has some very strange elements, and delicate material, mostly involving freaky childbirth. A movie version will be challenging. The plot goes as follows: SPOILERS AHEAD Bella (Kristen Stewart) falls pregnant during her honeymoon with Edward (Robert Pattinson). But they are both concerned at the abnormally rapid growth of the foetus so Edward urges her, unsuccessfully, to have an abortion. Not knowing what danger this unborn vampire-human child may hold, the werewolves plot to kill Bella, which forces Jacob (Taylor Lautner) to leave and form his own pack. The birth breaks many of Bella’s bones and she loses massive amounts of blood so, in order save her life, Edward turns her into a vampire. Jacob “imprints” on the newborn child, Renesmee, meaning he has found his soulmate. Meanwhile the Volturi (‘vampire government’) see Renesmee as a threat and set out to destroy the Cullens.

Though there is no official confirmation, filming on Breaking Dawn is expected to start in early 2010. Work hasn’t begun on the script, as it seems they’ve been waiting on New Moon’s box office results before deciding whether to split the book into two movies. Breaking Dawn’s novel is 756 pages, compared to Twilight’s 544 pages. The hold up may also be due to the cast being contracted for four movies, not five, so costly negotiations need to take place. However, given that New Moon has just opened bigger than The Dark Knight, I’d be surprised if they don’t split it.

My presumption is, considering the speedy turnover of the series, Breaking Dawn: Part 1’s release date will be early 2011 and Part 2’s release date late 2011.

Stephanie Meyer herself is deeply concerned about how the character of Renesmee will translate to the screen, writing that an actress could not play her, because she is a baby with complete awareness, and that “the one thing that I’ve never seen is a CGI human being who truly looks real”. Personally, I thought the wolves in New Moon looked pretty fake so I don’t think that’s going to hold up the movie.

Twilight fans, what do you think the Breaking Dawn movie release date should be? Should the novel be split in two? Are you worried about how some of the story will translate?

I completely agree, it would not only be surprising if they didnt split the last one, it would be downright stupid of them. I dont understand what they’re going to do with the whole ‘Jacobs POV’ thing in the film though, since everyone will be pretty used to Kristen Stewart narrating. I’m not particularly a fan of these films, or books, but I thought New Moon was a LOT better than Twilight. Twilight was just awful, CGI, acting, story, everything kinda sorta sucked! New Moons CGI wasn’t amazing, but it was better, the acting was a little better, there was an actual STORY this time, so it was a great improvement. Generally though, i think they’d better be smart about it and make those last two-or one- films before the fans outgrow the whole thing.
As for Stephanie Meyers little whinge about the kid not looking right, well she can stop complaining. Shes in it purely for the money, and just because her kids may have had glazed over eyes and been completely oblivious, doesnt mean all kids are. Most are more aware than adults, so I dont know what shes worrying about there.

my thing is if they take out jacob’s point of view, and take out stuff that doesnt really need to be there, the movie can be made into one movie.

but with new moon doing so good, i dont see why they wouldnt do breaking dawn. they can not end the series with eclipse, that would leave so much out.

I dont think they should break it into two films. Why cant they just make it a longer film? I also dont think the fans will outgrow the series. im a fan and love all the stories, and as far as the effects go that doesnt matter, as long as they stay true to the story. I also say stephenie is not in it for the money she just wants the movies to portray what she sees and knows of her version of twilight so i think she should have a say, afterall she did write the books

They should not split this film into 2 movies it would not be right. This is my favorite book. The CGI in the first 2 films have not been great but i agree that, that does not matter it is all about the story and the bond between edward and bella! I think stephanie meyer is right to be worried about the part of renesme, but im sure they can find a small 5 year old that can play the part of a child that is supposed to be the size of a 2 year old. I love the books and the films they completely took over my life, and i really begrudge people saying these are tween movies as im a 25 year old with 2 children and they apeal 2 me and nothing has ever effected me the way these books did! But i do think they will split the book into 2 films cuz the producers will want to make as much money from it as possible.

Just cut out Jacobs whole POV. There is a lot of stuff in the middle that isn’t absolutely necessary. Why can’t they make it into a 3 hour long movie. Titanic was 3 hours long and it was a blockbuster smash. Nobody minded seeing a movie that long.

They cannot take out Jacob’s point of view…. it is one of the most important things in this book and crucial to the understanding for the reader (or in this case the observer). Jacob gives persepective on Bella that isn’t like anything we’ve seen in the previous books. I also hope they do not break this book into two movies!!!!!! Honestly, if you wanted a 5th movie, please give me more information about Reneseme later on in life, how things work out with her and Jacob, and how long they get to stay with Clarlie. That is what I want in a 5th movie!!!!!

Breaking Dawn is my FAVORITE book of the series. I do think they should definitely leave in Jacob’s POV because as Jen said his POV on Bella is way more in depth in this book then in any other book. He really goes deep into his feelings for her & what he’s going through. Also they should make it into two films. One film even 3 hrs long I don’t think is enough to really catch the whole story. I’m sure if they get the story right all the other stuff like CGI and the length will fall into play. All in all i’ll watch it eiter way because I’m that interested and excited to see how they will do the movie!!!..

I agree that there is much unneeded stuff that they could do without that’s speaking from Jacob’s point of view. So,I really don’t see a reason for 2 movies. As,if you’ve read the book there’s just stuff be explained again and again.Which is highly unneeded.So,1 movie is all it should really take…

i think it should be 1 long movie or 2 i dont think they can cut jacobs pov i hated it but it was important very important as for new moon i absolutely adored it cant wait til june for eclipse or breaking dawn im 34 with 3 kids and nothing has appealed to me like twilight saga ever thank you stephanie

No, you can’t take anything out. Jacob’s point of view is boring, but still has to be in there. The movie has to be split into two enough said. Part I: pre-vampire bella and Part II: vampire bella. It’s very easy to end part I on a cliffhanger just like they ended on a cliffhanger with new moon. Breaking dawn is actually an easy film to make…only thing that makes it hard is the CGI baby. The whole birth thing isn’t that crazy as everyone thinks. I think people are freaking out about breaking dawn for no reason. Stephanie meyer is a mormom for god sakes…she didn’t write an R rated book. The ideas are just a little out there, but also its fictional so us fans like to use our imagination. I really don’t know what renesme is supposed to look like, but for god sakes all they have to do is increase the stinking budget (don’t us fans make enough money for summit entertainment) and utilize stephanie meyer. Meyer probably has a perfect picture of renesme in her head. This franchase is fueled by the fans and summit should give the fans what they want…they really don’t have to cut anything out at all. The teens all know that bella and edward have sex…teens are not that stupid. I think nowadays kids know what sex is at the age of 10 or younger…its ridiculous but its true. They can show some real passion between edward and bella, but its not like they have to get all crazy and show huge sex scenes..its not like meyer went into detail explaining what they were doing. And if meyer isn’t gonna write another book to continue the series, at least 2 movies will drag out the end of the films. I don’t want it to end, but if its gonna end i want BD to end with a bang and the only way it can be right is if its two films.

I Believe Breaking Dawn should split into 2 movies. a director that has read the books, and are familiar with it could do it. of course there will be difficulties, but its a great book, that can be a great movie. people shouldn’t be stupid and think the movie will be better than the book, because is it ever? I know alot of people would go see it. now as for it remaining a PG13 movie??? i really dont think it can be. i mean the book really wasnt. but either way id go see it at leat twice, even just to show support. the actors are great and the writer is perfect. i have faith in it! Good luck

Jacob’s point of view IS necessary, because it adds so much to the story. Also – the fan base will not grow too old – I did not even become interested in the books until I was 25. I love the Twilight Saga!

I hate when ppl say this movie is for teens because I am 25 yrs old and have a almost 5 yr old daughter. These books took over me when I was reading them, I have read them 6 times a piece because I love them so much. Every women or girl that has ever been in love can get something out of these books, you totally know how bella feels if you have ever been in love. These books were the best things I have ever read in my life and I cant wait to see Breaking Dawn no matter if they make it into two moives or one because I loved Twilight the movie and New Moon the movie and I am sure I will love Eclipse and Breaking Dawn because it is about the story, it is about the love between these two ppl and how they try to fight for each other and their love. I do hope they make breaking dawn because all the true fans that loved it for what it was really about and not for how cute someone was in it are the ones that really would love to see it made into a movie no matter what they do with it.

I would sit threw a movie for all day if it was really good. How many times have we seen those movie marathons that lasted all day. I just want to say that the twilight series has been the best. I absolutly loved the books and could barely put them down to eat and work and other things. I really have never felt so much love in a story before. The story that Stephanie has written is truely great and is not just for the young, but also the young at heart. It seemed to take forever for New moon to come out, but it was worth the wait. Now the dreaded wait for Eclipse to come out is on. I just cant wait. I know it will be great. The special effects were a little cheesey, but I still liked it so much. As always TEAM EDWARD…..Bella and the Cullens. By the way I am in my 50’s and have grown daughters but I am still young at heart and always will be.
