Twilight Saga: Eclipse Trailer
16.03.10 # Trailers # 20 Comments
Here’s the trailer for the latest instalment in the Twilight Saga. Apparently it’s a movie about vampires and there’s some sort of love triangle…I don’t know if it’ll catch on.
I’ve never read or seen anything Twilight. This would mainly have to do with my dislike for all things horror-related. But I’m not going to let that, or Twilight’s reputation for appealing only to the tweenage and the tasteless, stop me from writing about this trailer seriously.
My favourite lines are “I’m gonna fight for you until your heart stops beating” and “I promise to love you every moment forever”, lines which I think really encapsulate the different kinds of love that Jacob and Edward have to offer – one eternal and one finite but both as true. The dialogue sucks, but bad dialogue can be cool.
Also of note, they changed director three times and all the films look the same. Not that you’d expect a dramatic visual departure from one franchise instalment to another, just saying.
So what do you Twihards think of the trailer? I’m genuinely curious. And all of you Twilight haters as well, you crack me up.

This could literally be a trailer for the second movie. Shows how little has happened in the story.
Tyler Lautner’s face looks like it’s been repeatedly stung by bees.
you suck you act like you have no idea what your writing about isnt your job as a writer to do Research and know your facts so that you dont sound like a foul you say you never read or seen twilight but yet you quote lines from the book i can except someone not liking some thing if they have reason but prejudging some thing you know nothing about is total ignorance i suggest you get a new career
Great start to the comments.
@nene23 – I quoted lines from the TRAILER. I also made a conscious effort to be kinda positive and reach out to Twilight fans, clearly my plan backfired!
@Sheridan – It does appear to be a little repetitive.
@Simon – You Team Edward girls are all the same…
You shouldn’t be so prejudiced. I know it has flaws, like any other story but you got to admit that it was an original one.
And it has no horror elements inside, nor ‘cheap’ love story; on the contrary the story made a statement on human relationships. It is a new trend, the beginning of a nostalgic era of pure romantic love without the cynic love stereotypes of our time!Haven’t you notice this phenomenon around you?People got sick of mere shallow feelings and finally make their way back to higher values at last.Think about it; mankind come together in time of crisis, and we’ve already started entering a major one.
That’s all i had to say, and i’m not even in the least bit romantic.
P.s.:sorry for my english, i’m greek!
@Stacey – I’m not really all that prejudiced…more indifferent. I take it the trailer bowled you over?
seriously can’t anyone just enjoy a movie and let people who enjoy it, enjoy it.. thank you
F**king nonsense. Whether the Twilight books are good or not, I have no idea, but that was a sh*t trailer.
Case closed.
From the trailer it looks like they’ve made the same movie three times.
I can guess what will happen in the 4th movie.
Bella is confused about her love for for Edward/Jacob/Frankenstein, a vampire tries to hunt them down, someone makes a sacrifice, Bella gives birth to a baby covered in hair and fangs.
Give me True Blood any day.
I shake my head in frustration over the constant bickering and misinterpretation of Stephenie Meyer’s work. Like the majority of books and movies that are published, this film is purely fictional. That means it is make believe. Quite frankly the books and movies are refreshing from the day-to-day liberal society that we are forced to live in. Children’s shows are borderline inappropriate; showing bare body parts and cuss words on public TV, not to mention the 24/7 news shows that have to continually top the drama and violence that was reported the day before.
The Twilight series books and movies may not be an attention getter for men but it is a nice break from reality for young ladies and mothers to see.
As for you, Mr. dnwilliams (movie critic), I get that the trailer scene did not cause an “Oh, I have to see this” response from you but for the “teen scene” I am sure this first clip will definitely have them marking their calendar and begging their mom’s to run out to pre-purchase tickets for the showing of this movie.
Cheers
Melissa
Refreshing?!?!?!?!
(Romeo and Juliet + Westside Story + Moonlight + Buffy the Vampire Slayer + Angel) * (seriously lame unoriginal dialogue) + (Mormon propaganda) – (Anything that was cool and original from previously stated series’) + (Air headed female characters, Sparkling vampires and shirtless underage boys) = Twilight Series
Dear lord, you Twilight fans need to read more books! If you would take the chance and read any of the classics you would see how inane Twilight truly is.
P.S. I really don’t have anything against the Mormon Religion, but they are one ‘m’ away from morons.
I’m a twihard too, and i know that the books are stupid. And this trailer was a failure. But…you know…it’s like a hobby; you don’t care how stupid it is, you just carry on because it’s amusing! The movie is what it matters now. We’ll see.
I was one of those ppl that looked on in half-confused amazement at the twihards wondering to myself “geez, what is the big deal?!” In fact I downright got sick of hearing the term “team edward”….then I went and watched the movies and just like that….I was snapped up in the chaotic google-eyed drama over vampire fantasies lol. Personally, at age 31, it was in fact “refreshing” to get that kind of rush. These movies reminded me of when I was younger and had those teenage crushes, and like it or not, made me smile about the whole “it’s okay to dream again” concept.
I know there are some out there that are obsessed (I’m rather contemplating whether I am or not lol) but for those who just flat out love the movies, my opinion is that it gives us an “out”, a half-utopian idea about how we want life to be, and a half-reality check of what life actually is. The movies combine both (what we can and can not have) and so we end up with a feeling of being able to relate…period. I mean honestly, what female wouldn’t want two mysterious men fighting over her in an effort to obtain the greater good? A modern day fairytale that ppl can actually relate to. I think men might find it annoying just because it offers that idea to their female counterparts where they might fall short…and kudos to the men who actually get it.
Completely off subject, I was reading reviews of the first movie and saw where some were commenting on the cast smoking…lol. I’m not making any political debate over it. I think it’s great. And the whole reason those of you see it that way too is because we get to see all of those fanasty ppl being HUMAN, whether it’s wrong or right. I think it’s rather nice to see that side of the ppl behind the characters, if for no other reason, we can say “hmmm maybe they aren’t “too good” for me” …
So yeah, this 31 yr old is gonna pin up a few pics of Robert and Taylor on her computer screen, and I’ll probably secretely cuss “bella” for being in any of them (rather than myself cause let’s face it, we females are jealous anyways, lol)…the point is, I’m liking the whole dreaming thing again, and I’d like to thank anyone associated with the movie for making me dare to look farther than what life has thrown me so far.

I am 26, and I love the Twilight books. The movie Twilight was ok. I was a little disappoint with new moon, they left a few things out that I was hoping would be in it. I will be pre-ordering Eclipse. I am kind of curious as how a kid will turn out on screen. This movie along with others keeps your imagination functioning. Without your imagination, we would not have anything like: car, electricity and so on.
