Cloverfield 2 – Sequel Plans

Ever since the box office success of Cloverfield, filmmakers have been pondering the sequel. So what should you expect from a Cloverfield 2? There are big clues hidden within the first movie…
** SPOILERS AHEAD **
Firstly, is everyone/everything you think is dead, really dead?
At the end of the credits, someone can be heard whispering “Help us”.
And if you reverse it, this is what can be heard -
“It’s still alive.”
How bad can the damage be if they recovered the videocamera intact from Central Park?…
At the premiere, director Matt Reeves said: “While we were on set making the film we talked about the possibilities and directions of how a sequel can go. The fun of this movie was that it might not have been the only movie being made that night, there might be another movie! In today’s day and age of people filming their lives on their iphones and handy cams, uploading it to youtube…That was kind of exciting thinking about that.”
So, if anything, expect Cloverfield 2: Angle B. Or at least some overlap, before the story continues.
It’s rare that a sequel does not get drawn into backstory and origins. What do we know there?… The last couple of shots of Cloverfield return to the videocamera footage that’s being recorded over – To Rob and Beth at Coney Island. In the background you can just catch a large dark object plummeting through the sky, into the ocean. In other words – the first footage of the monster’s arrival?
No, not the monster. J.J. Abrams has said “The concept for the monster is simple. He’s a baby. He’s brand-new. He’s confused, disoriented and irritable. And he’s been down there in the water for thousands and thousands of years.” In fact, what you see falling is a satellite, and it’s the recovery of that which awakens the beast…
(See a screengrab of the object hitting the sea here)
So that’s the probable direction Cloverfield 2 would take, and the origins of the monster that would likely be explored further. But what do you want to see happen in any Cloverfield sequel? What should the plot be? Leave your thoughts in the comments.

I’ve watched it twice now, the second time fully aware of the rumors and watching very closely, but I can’t see anything drop into the ocean. Any word on what part of the screen it drops?
The object falls in the inbetween the middle of the screen and the right of the screen. It very tiny so you really have to pay close attention. Even try slow moing it. But it is definitely there.
I’ve only seen it once, so I haven’t noticed the dropping object, but he could still have been in there for thousands of years. Something dropping into the water could just be a meteorite that cracks open the egg…
I am not sure but i think thats Rob’s voice saying that in that hidden message.
It happens when they are on the ferris wheel. The instant it splashes down the camera turns away.
OMFG! that was awesome movie. but the ending was puzzling. they should make a sequel. like what the heck? its a baby?!? it must be like a little rat to its parents dude.
haha. and we’re like amobeas or whatever. it was great 4.5/5. only the ending. MAKE A CLOVERFIELD 2!!
thats freaky the hidden message there should be a cloverfield sequel and ten times better
Nothing like continuing the LOST theme with a different plot. Keep the viewers in the dark and they’ll keep coming back to watch to find the answers…..brilliant business model! Thought it was good…not great. A lot of unrealistic moments with the main cast.
until its clear that you will NEVER get answers
if you go to 1-18-08.com it shows new pictures that were not in the movie, such as a dead creature on the beach..thus indicating that there has to be a sequel on the way.
I recently watched the movie and i thought it was amazing. The thing that i really didnt notice untill a few hours after watching the movie, was that the whole movie is a home video. So somebody has to be playing the video right? In the beginning it has all of those captions w/ the black background saying Location: Central Park and all of that stuff. I didnt notice something drop into the water when they were on the ferrilwheel but im sure something happend.
Yeah there is something at the end that plumets into the water from the sky. I didnt really get a good look at it because I couldnt pause or anything, but once the dvd comes out Im sure we will be able to see it better. It sort of looked like it had a tail but I couldnt reall see it to good. Best movie Ive ever seen though and pray to God that there is a sequal
oh yeah and the thing drops on the righ side of the screen.
Okay i did notice something that dropped at the very end on the ferris wheel but i couldve swore that i also saw something drop when they showed the view of the beach. Did anyone else see it?

I saw that pic, its a dead whale or something that the monster ate.On the left u can c an obvious bite mark.this is not proof that there is going 2 be a sequel it means nothing
