James Bond’s rampage of destruction across the box office continues this week, with the spy who loved me proving he still has the goldfinger by generating over $50 million this Friday.

The numbers in detail, for your eyes only:

$39.3 million in the U.K.,

$16.5 million in France,

$7.7 million in Germany

$3.9 million in China.

Not bad going, all in all.

Quantum will be the third movie this year to gross more than $80 million abroad in any one weekend, after Indiana Jones And The Thingy of Whatsit and Iron Man took $146 million and $95 million respectively.

But the world is not enough, Bond’s total gross is expected to thunderball next week when the film opens in cinemas across America on November 14th.
