David Tennant In Fright Night

Fright Night Remake 2011 - David Tennant Picture
Fans of Doctor Who may be wondering what David Tennant has been up to since he left the show last year. Amongst other things, he’s been busy with his role as Peter Vincent in the upcoming Fright Night remake, and here we have the first image of him in that role.

Fright Night Remake 2011 - David Tennant PictureThe original Fright Night is a favourite amongst vampire movie aficionados and an obvious choice for a remake due to the ever increasing tendency for remakes and the undwindling popularity of those blood sucking night lovers. The new version will stick closely to the original concept in which a teen named Charlie Brewster is convinced that his new neighbour is a vampire, though no one will believe him. Anton Yelchin, of Terminator Salvation and Star Trek fame, will play the part of Brewster. Alongside Yelchin, in an impressive cast, Christopher Mintz-Plasse is playing Brewster’s best friend Evil Ed, Colin Farrell plays the vampire named Jerry, David Tennant will of course play the part of Peter Vincent who helps Brewster fight the vampire, Imogen Poots is the love interest and Toni Collette plays the mum.

Fright Night is set for an October release in 2011.

@Thom – I rewatched it last night after 10+ years and I can confirm it contains no such scene. But whatever movie that is sounds awesome.

It’s actually a really good flick and I don’t see them changing too much for the remake.

I didn’t just imagine it Sheridan! Turns out there was a roller-skating vampire in the sequel (Fright Night II) http://www.cinematical.com/2010/07/15/summer-scenes-we-love-fright-night-ii/ 🙂

Just like Charlie Brewster, I didn’t believe you. I, Peter Vincent, am now a firm believer in roller-skating vampires and am fully on board. Now, what are we going to do about them?

So how exactly did Peter Vincent go from Roddy McDowell to looking like a cross between Jack Sparrow and Chris Angel?
    Not that I’m complaining. :O)

So, they released the trailer. A distinct lack of Tennant but loads of Mintz-Plasse …hmmmm…

Anton Yelchin fits in nicely, he looks like he fell straight out of every 80s teen movie, but apart from that it looks pretty rubbish.
