After seeing tantalising glimpses of Captain America: The First Avenger, what with the costume designs and the stunt doubles, we’ve finally been able to see the lead actors (or at least two of them, the Sentinel of Liberty himself included) in character and on set. Take a look:
That’s Chris Evans as Steve Rogers, the weakling who takes a Super Soldier Serum concocted by a Nazi defector to go and kick Hitler’s ass. Or, more accurately, the Red Skull’s ass, and the Red Skull is Hitler’s bro, so he’s totally evil. He’s looking suitable blonde and beefy, and way more like the character than I think most people expected, or even dared to hope. What do you guys think?
Hayley Atwell’s public debut as Peggy Carter, the love interest for Captain America, is a little cooler than Cap’s own. I put it down to the gun-toting. There has been footage leaked from the set too, if you’d like to see some of the crazy in action. I think the period setting is really going to help this film stand out from the crowd, hopefuly they get the Indiana Jones vibe they’re going for….
And Evans talks a little about being involved in the project here:
I love the off the shoulder look.
Look at the size of his arms! I think he really has taken the super soldier serum. Not sure about the Edward Cullen pose though, maybe the wrong shade of lipstick.
Also, I could have sworn that was a pic of Anna Friel as Peggy Carter
Would you look at Chris Evans wow. Anyone who had doubts can dash those out the window.
Chris is extremely bone-able! But even though he’s eye candy I still want to see a movie that’s actually good (unlike the horrible Fantastic Four series). I hope they do a good job with Capt America.
