Green Lantern Concept Art

We’ve seen some of the aliens that will populate the Green Lantern universe, and we’ve also seen some of the human beings, but what we’ve seen nothing of is the world they’ll be inhabiting. Until now. Here we have some concept art from the upcoming Green Lantern movie, starring Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively, directed by Martin Campbell (Casino Royale). The art gives us a glimpse of the planet Oa, the homeworld of the little blue Yoda-like aliens that hand out the awesome rings that give the Green Lanterns their powers.

Pretty epic, huh? Hopefully it will be just as glorious on screen. It definitely looks like something that can compete with what we’ve seen of Asgard, the homeworld of Marvel’s galaxy-spanning superhero movie Thor.
What do you think of the designs for Oa? Good, bad or ugly?

Love it. The whole product has a cinematically unique quality to it.
Oh would you look at Oa. It’s a visual masterpiece. This is every fan boys dream. This movie is really going to be the Star Wars for dc comics movies.
As a huge fan of green lantern, the concept art for Oa looks like it’s going to be very beautiful and breathtaking on screen. However, I’m always disappointed a little bit when movies about comics do something that looks good rather than keep true to the story. I’m ok with changing certain things (you don’t want to just make the story a movie) but don’t change the origin. In the beginning, Oa’s buildings were large and majestic golden structures and there was a reason for that. In my opinion, they could have used that idea for this movie and maybe change it for the second one, so long as the storyline allows it. Over-all very nice look. Really wishing to see this movie.
