Kids Movies 2011 – Guide

Top 25 Best Kids Movies 2011 - Let’s take a look at the biggest and best kids movies of 2011. Family fun this year comes in the form of a Johnny Depp chameleon, a Shrek movie spin-off, Jim Carrey handling penguins, and Tintin’s state of the art return to the big screen.

Here’s our definitive guide to the best kids movies, 2011:

Gnomeo & Juliet
Release Date: 11 February 2011
Starring: (voices) James McAvoy, Emily Blunt, Michael Caine, Jason Statham
Director: Kelly Asbury

Upcoming - Best 2011 Kids Movies (Family)
Retelling of Romeo and Juliet with the Montagues and Capulets reimagined as two warring families of gnomes living next door to each other. This was originally going to be a Disney film but was shut down by new chief John Lasseter after the Pixar acquisition. Elton John is now a producer and persuaded himself to put his music in the movie. Hopefully it’ll get past the pun of its title and be a proper film. From one of the three directors of Shrek 2, this is probably the only time you’ll see Jason Statham involved with Shakespeare. [Critics (via Rotten Tomatoes) - 55%] [Public (via IMDB) - 5.8/10]

Justin Bieber: Never Say Never
Release Date: 11 February 2011
Starring: Justin Bieber
Director: Jon Chu (Step Up 3D)

Best New Kids Movies 2011
Part concert film, part documentary about his roots and rise to fame, Never Say Never focuses mainly on the 10 days counting down to Bieber’s first performance at the great Madison Square Garden in New York. He’s seen doing wild rock star things like handing out tickets, dancing on stage with a fan, and praying. The people around Bieber are interviewed, but Bieber himself is not. Fans will love it, the rest of us may be mildly interested by what it’s like inside the fishbowl of fame, and how an modern pop product is marketed. [Critics - 64%] [Public - 1.3/10]

Rango
Release Date: 4 March 2011
Starring: (voices) Johnny Depp, Isla Fisher, Bill Nighy, Abigail Breslin, Alfred Molina
Director: Gore Verbinski

Best Family Movies 2011
Rango (Depp) is a pet chameleon who accidentally winds up in the town of Dirt, a lawless outpost in the Wild West in desperate need of a new sheriff. The movie is ILM’s first animated feature and they’ve brought a truly unique look to the animation. Rango promises to be smart, savvy and steeped in enough western genre nods to appeal to movie buffs of all ages. From the director of the original Pirates trilogy. [Critics - 88%] [Public - 7.6/10] **2nd Best Reviewed Kids Movie Of 2011** **Public’s Favourite Of The Year So Far**

Mars Needs Moms
Release Date: 11 March 2011
Starring: (voices) Seth Green, Dan Fogler, Elisabeth Harnois, Mindy Sterling, Joan Cusack
Director: Simon Wells

best-kids-movies-2011
9-year-old Milo (Seth Green) finds out just how much he needs his mom (Joan Cusack) when she’s kidnapped by Martians planning to steal her mom-ness for their own young. Cue Milo stowing away on a spaceship, navigating an elaborate, multi-level planet and taking on the alien nation. All with the help of a tech-savvy, underground earthman named Gribble (Dan Fogler) and a rebel Martian girl. Based on the book, this is produced by the team behind A Christmas Carol and The Polar Express, using the same performance capture techniques. So expect visual splendour, and characters’ faces to occasionally look a bit zombie-like. 36-year-old Seth Green will be physically playing the 9-year-old too. [Critics - 33%] [Public - 4.3/10]

Diary Of A Wimpy Kid 2: Rodrick Rules
Release Date: 25 March 2011
Starring: Zachary Gordon, Robert Capron, Rachael Harris, Devon Bostick
Director: Jeff Kinney

Top Kids Movies 2011
As Greg enters seventh grade, he and his older brother/chief tormentor must deal with their parents’ misguided attempts to have them bond, even as Greg tries every attempt to impress his crush, Holly Hills. Sequel to last year’s moderately successful high-school comedy. This one is based on the 2008 follow up novel, which was written in the same diary-style. Back in my day it was called The Diary Of Adrian Mole, then there was The Wonder Years – The faces change but the ideas stay the same. Expect decent entertainment here, though nothing to suggest it couldn’t have been a TV show. [Critics - 47%] [Public - 5.6/10]

Hop
Release Date: 1 April 2011
Starring: Russell Brand (voice), James Marsden, Elizabeth Perkins, Hugh Laurie (voice)
Director: Tim Hill

Latest Kids Movies 2011 List
On the eve of taking over the family business, the teenage son of the Easter Bunny leaves Easter Island for Hollywood to pursue his dream of becoming a drummer. There he’s hit on the road by a out of work slacker who takes him in. Soon the slacker is struggling with the world’s worst house guest, but both will have to learn what it takes to grow up as they are forced to save Easter. From the director of Alvin And The Chipmunks, this is the same live-action mixed with cgi character style, and indeed, a very similar plot. Russell Brand voices the Easter Bunny, James Marsden is the slacker. From the previews this looks awful, and the posters are trying to trick you into thinking it’s an all cg movie. [Critics - 26%] [Public - 5/10]

Kung Fu is appropriate; RANGO is horribke as an adult but maybe OK for ‘kids’

I enjoy all sorts of new animated movies, cannot leave them without watchin. But Rango was quite slow, thought that, I enjoyed everything. I like the graphics and the humour hidden in those dialogues. Madagascar, Ice age, Toy story, Tinker Bell, Cars, Hugo, Shrek; I really wish I could have written one of these myself.

To be honest all you people are haters most of the movies you just said are probely amazing your just too dumb to notice I mean I hear you on Rango wow that was just so boring but montecarlo,Gnomeo and juliet well what can I say they were sooooooooooooo good I mean I would like to see you people make a film better than them you probely can`t evan think of one because the amount of films made now well it would be realy realy realy hard to come up with a new story in a few months and then direct and then find people to be in it.Well you people show me in 9 months a movie and I bet it will be so bad it would be laughable !!!!!!!! also I loved all those movies the amount of time put into them it should inspire you to write good comments not bad ones if youve got nothing good to say DO NOT SAY IT AT ALL!!!!!!!

      *Probably *You’re *Even *You’ve *Really

This is called criticising, not ‘hating’. ‘Hating’ is what you’re doing. PLUS you’re being a hypocrite, with little to no grammar too.

      I mean, you clearly stated:
“your just too dumb to notice” “I mean I would like to see you people make a film better than them you probely can`t evan think of one” “I bet it will be so bad it would be laughable !!”

      Before going on to say:
“if youve got nothing good to say DO NOT SAY IT AT ALL!!”

So please, cover the burn with a sterile bandage and run back off to your little barbie dolls. Or iPhones, I’m not so sure what 8 year olds use these days.

      Your argument is invalid.
