‘Star Trek’ Reboot – Trailer
16.11.08 # Trailers # 6 CommentsAlright fellow geeks, the wait is over. The official trailer for J.J. Abrams’ Star Trek prequel is up on YouTube (most likely for a limited time).
Oh wait, that wasn’t it. Here -
It’s sleek, sexy, action packed, and honestly looks like (in this writer’s opinion) a thin, cheesy load of crap. Say what you will about the Star Trek universe, its strengths have always been brains and social commentary … it cannot be quarterback cool.
Worst Part: Simon Pegg’s awkward one-liner as Scotty.

I want to know what Captain Kirk was doing when he was even younger. Ok, he stole cars. What was he doing when he was 8? And what was his first word? I think it was “Starship”. Darth Vader went back to the age of 12, this isn’t young enough. Hopefully there will be coverage in deleted scenes. Disappointed. Good trailer though.
I want to see sperm enter egg, with the voiceover “they’ve penetrated our shields!”
I really should have made this thing.
I keep finding myself drifting back to watch this again. Joking aside, I really like it.
What a waste of a really cool Vette…I’m not looking forward to seeing another icon of my youth being destroyed before the paying masses. Can’t Hollywood come up with new and fresh ideas without reaching to the past?
I don’t care where Kirk came from, or the rest of the characters for that matter…I’m Star Trekked Out!
The KFC commercial was more entertaining in MY opinion.
Mmmmmmmm, extra crispy, Yumm!
It looks very odd!
The CGI and external shots look modern, and the interior shots look like they could just be taken out of one of the old ones!
AHA!
Looking at a movie point of view, it’s a great movie.
Is it Trek ?
Sorry, but this is too much… too much action, too modern… it just didn’t feel Star Trek. It’s only a way to reboot the whole universe, as if what happened in those four past decades just didn’t matter at all. They just want to “refresh” so they can simply start cashing in again, regardless of what has to happen.
