Now this actually looks amazing. As a wrestling fan (who noticed the use of Ring of Honor and the brief shot of Ron “The Truth” Killings in the trailer), it looks seriously good, without being patronising about the sport.
Will it win the Oscar? Mickey Rourke will be up against whatever else Clint Eastwood makes before February and perhaps The Joker if they push Ledger for best actor…

I watched The Fountain on my office computer, walked into my living room, looked at my roomates, and said “that’s the best film of a decade.”
Not everyon agrees. So I hope The Wrestler garners some Oscar clout for Aronofsky, I think he’s a genius. And the trailer looks fantastic.
Why isn’t Rowdy Roddy Piper starring in this?
