Anna Karenina
Starring: Keira Knightley, Jude Law, Aaron Johnson, Domhnall Gleeson
Director: Joe Wright
Out: 16th November 2012 (limited)

Anna Karenina (Knightley) has an affair with a dashing young Count (Johnson) who wants her to leave her stable husband (Law). Based on Leo Tolstoy’s classic novel, this has Shakespeare In Love writer Tom Stoppard penning the screenplay, Atonement director Joe Wright, and Keira Knightley starring, so should be a serious awards contender. A key difference between this and earlier cinematic versions is it’ll concentrate less on the title character and more on creating a portrait of a community. Much of the Russian melodrama’s power was in its ability to shock but today having an affair isn’t nearly so daring or scandalous. Still if it’s an epic love story you’re looking for, this is it. The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2
Starring: Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner, Anna Kendrick
Director: Bill Condon
Out: 16th November 2012

After the birth of their vampiric daughter, the Cullens gather other vampire clans in order to protect the child from a false allegation that puts them in front of the Volturi. The plot of the novel is waaay out there, with the vampire baby talking like an adult and Jacob Black kinda falling in love with it when it’s two years old. I expect this’ll get toned down considerably, the actress playing the kid is ten years old for a start. They’re also adding a bigger climactic battle scene than was in the book. The director of Part 1 remains in charge. Given this movie is expected to make $700 million+ theatrically, the studio has said that the series is likely to continue beyond it, as a TV show at the very least. By this point you’re either a huge fan or not. [Critics: 48%] [Public: 5.8]

The lineup looks very similar to last year.
I hope that ‘Friends with Kids’ will be quirky/cool like Juno – it is the story outline that most interests me from the 2012 romantic films. Though I worry the still frame above looks filled with fake over-hammed expression. Hope I’m proved wrong and it’s a decent watch.
If you want predictable go for romantic movies and romantic comedies. 2012 is no exception. It’s a genre for sappy women with unrealistic expectations. Wake up!
My favorite 3 are:
•Step Up 4
•The Lucky One
•This Means War
My best – This means war
– Friends with kids
– Perfect Sense
saw the five year engagement. so cool i love it.
my favorite without doubt is
- Bel Ami
just wanna say that twilight sucks. XD
nothing can compare “One Day”
Best movie ever for me.
I hope that they’re good films!
