There’s been some Avengers 2 talk over recent weeks, so what has been said and what direction is the sequel likely to go in?
The Avengers is shaping up to be an enormous financial hit. After just two days at the foreign box office it’s taken $36 million and broken records, including the third biggest opening day in British history. In the US, it’s tracking at one and a half times the pre-sales of all other Marvel Studio movies – combined. Which means it’s going to open somewhere in the range of $160-200 million. Audiences have rated it an extremely high 9.0 on IMDB, and 96% of critics like it or love it. I’ve seen the movie, and it has a much higher rewatchability than other superhero adventures – expect significant repeat viewings after a huge opening.
All of which means a very large financial incentive to press forward on a sequel. So what can we expect from The Avengers 2? Firstly it will almost certainly add to the team. Stan Lee doesn’t have creative input but he’s said he’d like to see Black Panther, Dr. Strange or Ant-Man join up. There’s been an Ant-Man standalone movie in development for some time, and more recently a Dr. Strange movie is on the boil. Ant-Man and Wasp seem like very likely additions as they have been an almost permanent feature of Avengers comics in recent years. Don’t expect to see Spider-Man join though, as those movie rights are likely to stay at Sony for a considerable time.
Producer Kevin Feige is in creative charge of the movies and says that Marvel’s upcoming movies will fit together as another set of films leading up to the Avengers sequel. Iron Man 3 “will be the first of what we refer to as phase two of this saga, that will culminate in Avengers 2.” He also mentioned that a Dr. Strange movie could well fit into this second phase. All of which means that the Avengers follow-up won’t hit theaters until 2014 at the very earliest, with 2015 more likely.
Who will be the villain? **AVENGERS SPOILER** The Avengers end credit scene introduces us to Thanos, who smiles when he’s told that to attack Earth is to “court death”. Thanos in the comics is fascinated with death and nihilism. He kills millions on his home planet with nuclear bombardment before travelling to earth. He is capable of superhuman strength and can absorb and project vast quantities of cosmic energy, enough to obliterate planets. His most famous storyline sees him gain possession of the Infinity Gauntlet, recently glimpsed in the Thor movie (in Odin’s trophy room). Each gem of that gauntlet grants its bearer complete mastery over one aspect of the universe: Time, Space, Mind, Soul, Reality, or Power. We know that Thanos is not a villain in Iron Man 3, and appears unlikely for Thor 2. So it’s fairly safe to assume the set up is for the next Avengers movie. ** END SPOILER **

i want to see super skrull as one of the villans and rocket racoon to join avengers do u think galactus would make an apperance later on
Black Panther..Ant Man and Wasp would be nice to see in the adventures as they Battle Hydra or The Skrull….Ultron would be nice then they could introduce the creation of Vision…Prince Namor could have a showdown with the Hulk..so many options to consider…

YAH FOR AVENGERS CAMEO,BUT I DONT THINK THEY WOULD because THERES ALREADY A SCARLET. THEY STUPID LIKE THAT. BESIDES X-MEN SUCKS. IT SHOULD BE CHILDREN OF THE ATOM, THE REAL FIRST X-MEN – SCOTT, GRAY,ANGEL,HANK & SNOWMAN.
I ALWAYS WISH THAT THEY MADE CAMEOS OF HEROS OR VILLIANS THAT ARENT IN THE MOVIES YET OR NEVER WILL BE IN THE MOVIES, AT LEAST A 5 min SCENE. LIKE AT THE BEGINING OF SPIDERMAN MOVIE (NOT ORIGIN STORY) FOR HIM TO BATTLE A TWO BIT CROOK. OR LIKE THAT ONE ISSUE WHEN SPIDERMAN WAS SWINGING THEN HE LOOK UP AND SAW NOVA FLY BY, JUST TO SHOW THEY ARENT THE ONLY ONES IN THE UNIVERSE.
BLACK PANTHER!!!!!!!!!! maybe a cameo from moonknight, or daredevil, punisher. Just cameo. And the hulk series start back up with the new guy.

The next movie should bring the X-men and Ms.Marvel to help against the war with thanos. Heck why not bring in the galactic empire to the scene. One question will there be a hulk planet movie, and will they please stop changing hulks actor this one is really good?
I DOUBT THEY OR GOING TO MAKE A BIG DEAL OUT OF THE BLACK PANTHER.IF ANYTHING HE MIGHT BE THE CAMEO. I RATHER SEE STRANGE AS THE NEXT MARVEL CHARACTER. AS ITS ON MOVIE. LETS FACE IT THEY BEEN TRYING TO MAKE A BLACK PANTHER MOVIE SENCE I WAS IN HIGH SCHOOL, IM 36,BEFORE BLADE. HES A KING OF A ALREADY ADVANCE CULTURE OF ALL BLACK PEOPLE AN HIS NAME IS ALREADY INFAMOUS SENCE THE 60s AND ALL THEY HAVE TO SHOW FOURTH IS A STOP MOTION COMIC. i want to see ghost rider.id like to see the avengers faces when he is called in.plus doctor strange OR ant man with rocket raccoon coming to earth to ask the avengers to help him rid of thanos forever because his world was recently taken over by him
I believe the black guy from push , elephant white ,constatine (papa midnight). should play the black panther.
I’m sure there will be a smash up. Something along the lines of Marvel Ultimate Alliance-like. But Scarlet Witch, Ms. Marvel, Dr. Strange, and Wasp + Ant-Man.
Some of you guys are WAY off base. This is a 2 – 2.5 hour comic book movie. They cannot possibly include a huge list of every possible character ever to team up with or fight against the Avengers. Not only would it cost a lot for casting, but how could they possibly introduce so many new characters?
There is no way there are going to use characters from another company (Sony, Fox, etc – no Spidey, X-Men, or Fan4) as they would have to buy the rights and reintroduce them, not just rely on the origins presented by some other movie. Doing so, the proposed film would only be liked by the nerdiest of comic book fans and be seen as completely irrelevant for anyone else who just enjoys the movies and would tank.
Notice that the movies Thor and Captain America (and potentially Ant-Man and/or Dr. Strange, if they happen) were created for the sole purposes of introducing those characters in anticipation of the Avengers films and continuation of the franchise. This thing can’t run forever, and eventually the directors and actors portraying the comic characters will get tired of it and be replaced.
Also notice that a LOT of work has gone into keeping this all as real as possible. As far as human beings having outrageous powers and abilities, the hulk has got to be pretty close to the limit. Aliens like Thor and Loki are a different story, but it all still has to mesh well to be seen as realistic.
At the minimum, a new villain will have to be introduced (if not done so in one of the other sequels: IM3, THOR2, CA2) which only leaves room for 2 or 3 new faces. Think about it, Avengers 1 only brought in Maria Hill and Hawkeye. The Chitauri army is just a standard undeveloped alien race (and NOT the Skrull or Kree, claims Whedon), and Thanos is only shown to keep us interested.

How about Daredevil?
I say definetly introduce Antman and Wasp. Black panther and vision would be cool to see as well but unlikely since they both have other story line conflicts in which they come to the avengers for help or aid. Thanos seems like a very great villian, however, it would be cool to have a sort of intro villian at the beginning, kind of like how the dark knight has scarecrow at the beginning and then focuses on joker. it would be cool to hint or tease at more or one villian that is a burden to the avengers, then they have to deal with Thanos. Definetly must have Antman and Wasp. possibly they could not so much as introduce them but relate them into the movie for an appearance. Such as, these two started the idea of a task force to defend earth and pitched that idea to Fury. Something along those lines instead of a possibly future scene where Antman shakes hands with Ironman.
They should put wolverine on the team in the avengers two! hugh jackman would kickass in it!
I would say Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow can kick ass, but give her some bigger guns. Watching all the fighting with Thor and his hammer, Captain and his shield, Iron man with his lasers flying around kicking ass. And then you get Black Widow shooting those little pistols. “BIGGER GUNS PLEASE”
I would like her to have more female friends so I would like to see her hangout with Ms. Marvel and/or She-Hulk. The team would also be easy on the eyes if you know what I mean.
