Ok, so Sony has released a short video for Rian Johnson’s new film Looper, starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Bruce Willis. It’s not the trailer. It’s a trailer for the trailer I guess. These little pre-trailer videos are getting quite trendy. [and annoying - ed.]
Rian Johnson and Gordon-Levitt have teamed up again after Johnson’s 2005 debut – Brick. Which was awesome. Looper follows gangster JGL as he is tasked with killing his future self – Bruce Willis! One can only imagine the action and chaos that will ensue. But for the juicy bits, you’ll have to wait a few days, when the official trailer is due online. Looper is out in the US and UK on September 28th.

I know it makes perfect sense for marketers, but for movie blogs it means we have to write about the same trailer twice in the space of a week, which is a pointless pain in the ass.
Yes I agree. A consequence of film marketing in a digital/social media age I guess. They should take a page out of Prometheus’ book in that respect…
