Pixar’s ‘Brave’ – New Trailer

Aye the new trailer for Pixar Scottish adventure Brave has made a wee splash:
The story of highland princess Merida is Pixar’s first fairytale and first female lead – some pretty major firsts! A lot of the plot remains a mystery, but it looks a lot like Merida’s wishes result in some magical transformations…
Brave is set in the mystical Scottish Highlands, where Merida is the princess of a kingdom ruled by King Fergus (Billy Connolly) and Queen Elinor (Emma Thompson). An unruly daughter and an accomplished archer, Merida one day defies a sacred custom of the land and inadvertently brings turmoil to the kingdom.
In an attempt to set things right, Merida seeks out an eccentric old Wise Woman (Julie Walters) and is granted an ill-fated wish. Also figuring into Merida’s quest – and serving as comic relief – are the kingdom’s three lords: the enormous Lord MacGuffin (Kevin McKidd), the surly Lord Macintosh (Craig Ferguson), and the disagreeable Lord Dingwall (Robbie Coltrane).
Brave opens June 22nd in the US, and months later (August 17th) in the UK.

For me, the least appealing Pixar project there’s ever been. I was more keen to see Cars 2. If I didn’t know I’d say the trailer was for a business-as-usual Dreamworks production.
Totally agree. My only hope is that the Toy Story 3 trailer was really bad, but the movie turned out amazing.
Didn’t see Cars 2, but from Toy Story 3′s “gay Ken fashion show” scene to the nipple twisting and kilt lifting on display in this Brave trailer, I’m seeing a slow decline into broad, stereotypical humor which has always been the mark of Dreamworks, not Pixar.
I ALWAYS give Pixar the benefit of the doubt, but there’s nothing in this Trailer that jumps out at me. Then again, Pixar doesn’t rely on anything traditional (with the exception of The Incredibles, which is still my favorite), they have always made their own unique stories. Who else could have made a story of a rat chef in a french kitchen so fun?
Up and Ratatouille’s previews did absolutely nothing for me. I learned to never judge one of their films based on the previews.
Horrible…let me repeat this…HORRIBLE choice of a name for this character. Out of every available name in the detailed and myth-riddled history of Scotland and the Celts in general…they name her after a SPANISH CITY??!! You’ve got to be kidding me. I was so thrilled about this movie and it finally touching into Celtic lore…and then I realized that her name is Spanish. Gross. If they made a movie with an exotic Latina princess and named her Aberdeen, I (along with millions) would be equally as irritated. Just ruined this for me.
you lot are just anti-scottish…. i think it looks great, the kids will love it and u problably will too..
I think it looks good too dude. It’s not that people are anti-Scottish, it’s that they’re pro-Pixar! People hold them to a very high standard, far higher than most other brands and ANY other production company, because they’ve rarely disappointed.
