The Raven‘s out now in the US and we’ve been given an exclusive interview clip, so watch it before something macabre happens to your eyes.

The Raven is a fictional account of the last days of Edgar Allan Poe’s life, during which the poet/author pursues a serial killer whose murders mirror those in Poe’s stories (The real-life Poe is considered the inventor of the detective fiction genre). John Cusack stars, and it’s directed by the man behind V For Vendetta, James McTeigue.

The Raven also stars Luke Evans, Alice Eve and the always excellent Brendan Gleeson. I haven’t seen it yet, but am genuinely intrigued – Cusack has been great in this darker sort of material (Identity, 1408) and Poe is such a fascinating figure that any effort is going to be interesting on some level.
