The Dark Knight Rises – New Trailer

The Dark Knight Rises has a new trailer out. It’s kind of a big deal. This time we see a lot more Catwoman and John Blake (Gordon Joseph-Levitt).
While it’s fantastic that there’s another Christopher Nolan Batman and I have no doubt it’ll be a great movie, I gotta be honest I was much more excited at this stage of The Dark Knight‘s promotional campaign. There I couldn’t wait to see how they were going to realise Two-Face, and how the Joker was going to be portrayed. Here Catwoman and Bane don’t have that mystery about them, and are much less exciting by comparison. Also there’s really no imagery here that we didn’t see in the previous film, I think the cinematography in The Dark Knight trailer was more exciting. The Bat-plane seems too silly to me. And the longer Christian Bale’s career goes on, the less exciting he is as an actor.
Just saying. Now tell me I’m wrong in the comments.

Things are getting better & better with Batman & Catwoman’s sexiest outfit to get your claws into, perhaps a possible fourth batman movie? Maybe just maybe.
I’m glad Bane’s voice has been unmuffled, but, I’m sorry, when he spoke he reminded me of Kenneth Williams! But who am I kidding, this will be awesome and I can’t wait!
I wish they’d muffle it just a little more, because it’s lost some of the edginess it had in the prologue and previous trailer.
This trailer makes a whole lot more sense, seeing as he had nothing really to “rise” from at the end of Dark Knight.
Still, the whole thing reeks of trying too hard. I don’t see why it’s the epic conclusion because it’s not the natural outgrowth of the story laid out in the second film. The lack of The Joker is very noticeable. Bane feels like a secondary villain, not a tent pole. And the football sequence looks cheesy as hell.
Per Chris Nolan it looks masterfully shot and edited, but also per Chris Nolan it seems heavy handed and a bit too full of itself.
Also, they lost me at “there’s a storm coming.”
Sheridan, you also make a great point about the flying vehicle.
HE SHOULD TURN HIMSELF IN!
I don’t care what you say, I still think it’s going to be a great film.
Can’t wait for the movie. Avengers was awesome, this can only be great.
Also looking forward to the scene where Fox explains to Batman that he has another army prototype flying attack vehicle, but forgot to mention it at any other point before this.
He may have never mentioned it, but considering that there’s an eight year gap between this and The Dark Knight, it could have been developed in that time.
I am a fan of the recent Batman movies, frankly I live by some of the lessons taught in these movies. This looks like it could be a contender in the blockbuster race this year if it is done right! I like the tumbler has been kept constant throughout this trilogy, that is one bad ass vehicle!
Bane? As you can guees, I’ve been out of the loop since the Dark Knight. Even though his character may not seem mysterious, Bane seems mysterious for this trilogy. We all know Bane as guy that uses some chemical(venom) to get stronger. Though, here he has a personality. Though, since this is ending the trilogy, Bane works, since he’s the guy that “broke the bat.” Paralyzing batman. Therefore, it works, I guess. Besides, I’m glad Bane is on his own this time around. Even though, I think they should one day give Harley Quinn her time.
I must be getting old, cos these superhero things look more and more like the modern equivalent of wrestling pictures’
Big men in tights, OK rubber, you know the score.
I just saw the trailer I thought it was great!
It also seems he’ll be driving a flying Batmobile.
I’m so looking forward to this movie.
I don’t know about a fourth movie though.
okay so here’s my thoughts on this new installation of the Batman Begins trilogy (mind you i must emphasize “Begins”, they are not gonna let the batman franchise go, when it’s such a cash-cow for Legendary Pictures and DC Comics)
There will be another installation of a trilogy sans Christian Bale, but the legacy will continue. Maybe a film adaption of Frank Miller’s “The Dark Knight Returns” and “DK2 The Dark Knight Strikes Again”
I think Bane is being used for a bit of the Knightfall story and a mix of the Bane of the Demon storyline. Bane must be Ra’s Al Ghul’s henchman/ paid or partnered help to finally accomplish his plans that was started in the League of Shadows of tearing Gotham apart, and destroying Bruce Wayne….but possibly Bane reneges the deal taking Gotham for himself. I think Talia Al Ghul will play a role in this film as well, along with maybe a Harvey Dent being born again in the Lazarus Pit, which could be whom the smiling dude in the trailer is.
Catwoman may switch sides, as her character often does. I think this movie will set up another trilogy. But I dislike calling it The Dark Knight trilogy, when it’s actually the Batman Begins trilogy, which has so far visited comic lines such as Batman – Year One, The Many Deaths of Batman, A Long Halloween, The Killing Joke, and obviously Bane of the Demon and Knightfall.
Whether Nolan retires his role on the Batman trilogy, there are others who would gladly do it, maybe M Night Shamalon meets Tim Burton,or how about Robert Rodriguez/ Tarentino now that would be a trip. New Villians, do the Frank Miller Batman graphic novels….older Bruce Wayne/ Batman, Bruce Willis would work great or Mickey Rourke
John Blake is Harvey Dent reborn from The Lazarus Pit
