The Amazing Spider-Man - Latest Trailer
There’s a brand new Amazing Spider-Man trailer with previously unseen footage. And a new antagonist.

The trailer underlines that Spider-Man will be more openly wisecracking than before, which puts him closer to the personality of his comic counterpart. But the most intriguing part of this footage is a sinister figure asking The Lizard (in human form) whether he has “Told the boy about his father”. Which villain is this? We know the ‘Proto-Goblin’ will be played by Indian actor Irrfan, but here is someone else…

It’ll be interesting to see what else The Amazing Spider-Man does to disguish itself from the previous films. They’ve said it will be darker. There’s more footage here of a bridge and a burning car hanging off it. That’s roughly how Gwen Stacey (Emma Stone) died in the comic, so I wonder if killing her is the route to that darkness?

The Amazing Spider-Man stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Rhys Ifans, Martin Sheen and Sally Field. It opens in the US on July 3, and a day later in the UK.

I’m convinced it does look good, but I don’t know if
it’s dark or not.
It does look different with the Lizard as the villain.
