First Skyfall Poster

Pah! Back in the day, Bond movie posters were kaleidoscopic cavalcades in two-dimensional form. Leggy ladies, bombastic explosions and maybe even the delicately cocked eyebrow of Roger Moore, those one-sheets of yesteryear had a chaotic charm sadly not found in modern 007 posters. Case in point: new Bond movie Skyfall, for which an adequately slick teaser poster has just been launched.
What relatively little we know about the story of Skyfall tells us that the past of M (played by Judi Dench) comes back to haunt her, with James Bond doubtless being needed to save the day. And let’s be honest, when the world’s most famous fictional secret agent steps in to help, he only ever offers three solutions: shoot it, shag it, or a bit of both.
Somehow Javier Bardem fits into the proceedings, playing a dastardly villain named Raoul Silva, although big name as he is in his own right, Bardem is absent from the new Skyfall poster (as, mercifully, is a certain beer brand tipped to play an intrusive role in the new movie, courtesy of a big money sponsorship deal).
Instead Daniel Craig as Bond takes sole centre-stage, staring back at us via a variant of the classic 007-down-the-barrel perspective. Hardly earth-shaking stuff, but it will likely keep the Bond fans sated till the debut teaser trailer is unveiled this coming Monday.

Skyfall is due to be released on 9 November.
