‘RISE’. I’ve started to really come around to the title of this movie. At first, it seemed a little lazy, and very, very generic. There are umpteen movies wish a variation of ‘rise’ in the title – none of them with the best reputation if I’m not mistaken. But these Batman movies are all about their motifs, and one of the recurring phrases in Batman begins was ‘Why do we fall? So we can learn to pick ourselves back up!’ So it’s nice to see that theme carries through to this film, no doubt bringing come cyclicality to the whole thing.

The posters themselves aren’t TERRIBLY exciting, but they’ll do. It’s nice to keep getting more good looks at Bane and Catwoman. What do you think? Do you have a favourite?

Are you telling me that none of those people would have an umbrella?

When Bane was announced I never thought he’d be quite so well dressed. He could do a GQ spread.

Notice how everyone’s eyes are missing/closed/shadowed… similar to coins after a wild west shootout. Except for Bayne’s.

Umbrellas are for Brits. You’re right though, Bane has serious swag. Should go some way towards convincing naysayers to take him seriously.

Agreed, Bane is sporting some beautiful coats. Got my eye on that wintery number especially.

Ahem – where is the Michael Caine poster?

He doesn’t really get a look in on the posters with this franchise, does he? I guess no action scenes = no poster.

People in black in the dark. It’s so, well, dark. I’ve got to admit I’m fed up with the whole metaphorically obvious darkness in these movies. Moral complexity reduced to rubber fetish gear and not putting the lights on.
And the po faced seriousness. It’s deep because it’s humourless.

I fankly think the posters look good, they’re gritty, dark, they have character variety, and give an idea what to expect.
I also like Catwoman’s costume, because it looks almost like that of Julie Newmar’s outfit classic yet modern looking.
