New Bourne Legacy Trailer

New Bourne Legacy Trailer
Goddamn the power-hungry puppet masters at the apex of our society, what with their incessant lies and their toxic wickedness and their awkward stiffness in social situations. Thank goodness then for the honest folks at Universal Pictures who are sticking up for the power of the individual via their latest blockbuster The Bourne Legacy, a new trailer for which has just been launched.

Watching the trailer for The Bourne Legacy, it’s really, really, REALLY hard to get away from the fact that this is a movie trying very hard to be a Bourne movie minus the rather crucial ingredient of one J. Bourne.

All involved seem acutely aware of this rather seismic shortcoming too, which is why the trailer tries hard to sell The New Guy (also known as Aaron Cross) as tougher than that Bourne fella: Jason Bourne was just the tip of the iceberg? Yeah, well, a lot of people reckon the tip is the best bit.

Still, centre-stage is where Jeremy Renner’s Cross is, and Edward Norton is the establishment rotter out to get him (of course, if Kevin Feige didn’t hate Norton’s guts then those two could’ve already played against each other this summer in The Avengers). Rachel Weisz plays a scientist sympathetic to Cross’s cause, while Joan Allen, David Strathairn and Albert Finney are all back from previous Bourne outings.

‘Remember when that really exciting thing was happening in New York with Jason Bourne? Well something less interesting was going on at the same time‘.
