Rant: This Should Not Be Allowed

It used to be the only thing we had to worry about was a critic’s quote being taken out of context to promote a movie. But now we’ve sunk to a new low. Watch:
The ‘critics quotes’ are tweets from members of the public, Adam Sandler fans, who saw a preview. I don’t care if you stick the twitter bird next to it, that just takes the piss when it come to misleading people.
(The worst I’ve ever seen in distribution was when Metrodome used an imdb user post as the quote for the back of one of their videos.)
So tired of Adam Sandler dreck. Every year he or his production company are pumping out the worst of the worst (2011 was Jack and Jill, Bucky Larson, and Zookeeper). Imagine if the studio had put the money for three or four comedies behind fresh, inventive, deserving projects.

In polish promotion of “This must be the place” there was quote saying “If Tarantino would made spaced out comedies he would be called Sorentino” which has nothing to do with the movie, but because i didn’t know nothing about it i thought “yeah. cool. what an amazing review”. Then i checked and it was quote from some guy on internet movie forum… That saw movie after downloading it from torrents…
Classic. The best yet.
I saw a MIB III commercial where there was like 12 positive quotes, but they were all from one critic.
Yeah that sucks too. Often they try and get away with it by writing the critic’s name so small you can hardly read it.
He’s a potentially good actor and decent writer when he wants to be. I don’t know why he’s doing this to his fans.
I’ve got to admit this doesn’t bother me. In the old days you’d see five star reviews and they would be from the Newtown Unthank Evening Post or something. And Sandler fans are a special breed.
Say what u want, i love adam sandler and i think he has done some hilarious stuff, i have put up with a lot of crap from people because i really liked Jack and Jill and a great many of his movies, including some of his more dramatic roles, Zookeeper wasn’t that great and Bucky Larson sucked a big fat one, but Adam Sandler is a great comedic actor. His style is unique, imagine some of his most famous roles; would they be nearly as great if u put someone else in them? I for one am a huge supporter of his movies and am looking forward to That’s My Boy!
Adam Sandler can be good, but don’t you get the feeling his production company isn’t trying very hard? Even as a big fan of his style of humour you didn’t like Zookeeper or Bucky Larson. Something’s wrong there. His team should make 2 movies a year and not rush stuff out.
I do agree, if they were to try a little harder and reach a little ways out of their comfort zone they could make more consistantly great movies rather than just a decent movie here and there.
Sandler is essentially the same character in every movie he makes, yet Punch Drunk Love proved that he’s more than capable of doing a different role.
That is sheer proof that Sandler resorts to the lowest of the low in film making, not that you needed any of course.
As of now, I’m just waiting to see how much worse it can get.
thats my boy was funny. adam was hot in it like in the wedding singer. LOL.
