Cloud Atlas – 6 Minute Trailer & Wachowskis End 13 Years Of Hiding

Cloud Atlas Trailer - Wachowskis
The mysterious film adaptation of 2004 novel Cloud Atlas revealed itself this week. Looks very unique, in a good way. The plot follows a series of interconnecting stories that explore how the actions of individual lives impact on others in the past, present and future – as one soul is shaped from a killer into a hero, and an act of kindness ripples across centuries to inspire a revolution. Most of the movie’s stars have multiple roles. Tom Hanks has four.

Here’s a short introduction by the film’s three directors, The Wachowski Siblings and Tom Tykwer (Run Lola Run). The Wachowskis basically haven’t done any on or off-camera publicity since The Matrix, 13 years ago.

Yes, Lana Wachowski has had a sex change. But you know what, good luck to her. I think they make an entertaining trio and I’m excited that they are taking a big risk on this $160 million film and refusing to play by the rules. The trailer below is pretty stunning in itself and even though it will be a very difficult film to sell I hope it’s good enough to get awards attention so it can ride that wave and play the long-term game.

Cloud Atlas will be released on October 26th in the U.S. and probably around the same time in the UK. It’s 164 minutes (same as The Dark Knight Rises) and will be rated R.

This Looks like an original! The Wachowski Brothers have done it again And this movie can give James Cameron’s Avatar a run for its Money if done right. It is a movie that makes you think, and draws you in. I like Movies that challenge your mind, and keep you guessing as to what is going to happen next! Welcome Back Wachowski Brothers, and Sister! Good luck!

The most controversial people can produce the most amazing things in this game called life. And whether we win or lose this game, our fate will not be known here on earth. Perhaps this is where Cloud Atlas comes in …

I found this book on Audible years ago and thought I was the only one who read it … //smile

It is a beautiful story. Black Swan Green is also a wonderful book.

I wanted to see Cloud Atlas on a huge screen, but feared that it would be butchered because marketing would assume the audience would never follow the story through the labyrinth. I’m glad they did it. The (5 minute) trailer looks great.

Not really sure about this. It sounds like Virginia Woolf meets Vanilla Sky. Hmm?
