Valkyrie reviews
The Valkyrie reviews have marched on MGM. Is Tom Cruise going to be dragged outside and shot?

Valkyrie has certainly had a ‘colourful’ production. The Germans made it difficult for the production to access key real-life locations, 11 extras were hurt falling out the back of a moving truck, some scenes had to be re-shot after the film was destroyed by the wrong chemical treatment, and the release date was changed four times.

Director Bryan Singer and star Tom Cruise need a hit, as the buzz and excitement they used to create has all but evaporated.

Here’s what the movie critics are saying -

Variety -

“After a long takeoff, Valkyrie finally takes flight as a thriller in its second half but never soars very high… Cruise himself is a bit stiff but still adequate …[Valkyrie] has visual splendor galore, but is a cold work lacking in the requisite tension and suspense.”

The Hollywood Reporter -

“Well-crafted historical thriller boasts fine performances but fails to probe the motives behind the plot to kill Hitler… Valkyrie is not the electric jolt [Tom Cruise] needs to jump-start [his career].”

Screen Daily

“A serviceable if straightforward thriller…the film compensates for a lack of verve and action with solid production design and crisp performances from its cast. …Singer misses key opportunities to inject a little energy and visual flash into the story, as exemplified by a clumsily-staged arrest sequence late in the film.”

Valkyrie doesn’t have enough reviews yet for a rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

Not surprised in the least. Keep on truckin’ Tom Cruise.

The only movie that can truly bring him back to life at this point is an anti-Scientology movie.

After his stellar performance in Tropic Thunder – a twisted and unique role. I am truly waiting for another great role from Tom.
How to make the Germans look good?
    well…

What a challenging role he took on. Looking forward to seeing the film!

Tom Cruise is a producer of this movie, meaning every ticket gives him some small of money, and he gives millions and millions of dollars every year to a criminal cult. I can’t contribute to that by seeing this movie. I feel sorry for everyone else involved who is not a Scientologist. Sorry guys.

Nazis on Christmas and Hanukkah! what could go wrong?

also, for information’s sake, Scientology (Cruise’s religion) believes that psychiatrists did the holocaust

I think it’s funny when people talk about his great role in Tropic Thunder. Have you seen the videos of him dancing IRL on youtube? The dance is the same but it’s even funnier without the fat suit.

Looks like the Scientology protestors have found this board.

Is it possible for any of you so-called critics to judge Tom Cruise on his acting ability and not his beliefs which by the way there is nothing wrong with it. Tom Cruise is a great actor, father, husband and human being. He has never been in the news for drug abuse, being drunk in public. He lives a very clean life and does openly admit to believing in God(Oprah’s Show) Back off all of you judgemental people. He is respectful and has something you negative critics don’t have. It is called CLASS!! I saw Valkyrie and it was a great movie and done with authenticity. Here’s what I also have to say to criics about this true to life movie” You can’t handle the truth”. Tom Cruise was great in this movie. He is proud of this movie because he studied WWII history before attempting this role. TOM CRUISE ROCKS!!!

I just saw Valkerie and was truly fascinated by it. I knew a little about the failed plot to kill Hitler but not to the extent to which is almost succeeded. I thought Tom Cruise did an excellent job portraying Colonel VanStaufenberg. This movie struck me as very authentic and a film that was seriously made. I recommend it as one of the best World War II films.

Saw it today. Would have been better without Cruise as
did not attempt to speak German or even look German.
    But historically good.

What did Tom say just before he was shot????

NO ONE SPOKE WITH GERMAN ACCENTS! im sorry to break ur hard of hearing hearts but most accents accept hitlers OF COURSE were brittish…. and tom cruise did start the movie SPEAKING GERMAN…. go back watch it again… it fades to english simply because NOT EVERYONE SPEAKS/UNDERSTANDS GERMAN ( or in some peoples cases they dont like subtitles… im not getting into that … that is a WHOLE other subject for me)!

annoyed… u bet i am ….. anyways its not weather they were authentic in the way they spoke it was the story and the authenticity and accuracy of it….. people zone in on the wrong aspects of films…. idk…. it was historically correct as far as i can tell :) indeed a movie i will own <3 lol sorry about the crazy lady rant but some ppl are complete morons….. bah! lol

lol just needed to get that off my chest….. lol
