2013 BAFTA Results

The results are in, the shiny gongs have been handed out – but who was victorious?
The stars enjoyed London’s finest rain tonight as they braved the red carpet for the 2013 BAFTAs, hosted by Stephen Fry. Nomination heavyweights included Lincoln with ten nods, and Les Misérables and Life Of Pi with nine each. Though with Argo snapping at their heels, they had every right to be concerned. Affleck’s CIA movie walked away with Best Film, Best Director and Best Editing. Not to say that the others fared badly; Les Mis bagged four awards including Supporting Actress, and Daniel Day-Lewis was bestowed with Best Actor for Lincoln. Skyfall was named Outstanding British Film, while Original Screenplay went to Django Unchained.
With just two weeks to the Oscars, the Argo wave is quickly gathering pace. Could it do what no one thought possible this time last month and beat Lincoln to the finish line? We’ll find out on February 24.

Ok now come on. Is Argo really that good? Is it actually doing so well because it sounds like Fargo?
I would say that it just really is that good. Is it going to win out in the Oscars? I’d say no, but I think it deserves the awards it’s winning.
