The sequel to Twilight has a release date.
The rumoured director has been officially confirmed, and now he has his work cut out to have New Moon ready for November 20, 2009.
Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson will return as Bella Swan and Edward Cullen.
Also opening that day are Sherlock Holmes, starring Robert Downey Jr., and the rebooted Three Stooges flick written and directed by the Farrelly Brothers. Both are potential hits. Expect one of them to move.
Producing a movie in the space of a year is a punishing schedule and it means every aspect of the production will be rushed. But it makes good business sense, as it doesn’t allow the hype a chance to die down. The Saw series has been doing the same sequel-a-year thing and has been extremely profitable, although most would argue that the quality of the product has suffered.
Twilight fans, are you happy about the release date, and how do you feel about the female director being replace by a man for the sequel?

UMM im not sexist at all but it seems to me as if he trying to push it a bit too mucch with 2009 the actors have many other movies they have roles in and i feel there wont be enough time or youd need to get some new cast members whichh will ruin it !! also i believe TAYLOR should stayyy or there will be some serious FANNSS upsett okayyy PLEASE PUT THIS INTO CONSIDERATION with all female fanss were excited but not sure if this is ganna make itt as good as the firsttt !!
I am very excited for new moon, and I think the new director will be great. I did read this morning however, that they are trying to replace Jacob. They are thinking that someone from scorpion king 2 will be cast. I hope they don’t do this.
I LOVE THE FIRST ONE! AND CANT WAIT TILL THE SECOND ONE BUT YALL REALLY SHOULD KEEP THE GUYTHAT PLAYED JACOB FIRST HE DID SUCH A GOOD JOB!!!!!! I THINK A LOT OF PEOPLE ACTUALLY MAY THINK THAT TOO!!!!
Because he directed the Golden Compass, I’m afradi he’ll play too much on the fantasy aspect of the story.
yes i think that you should keep the actors and no you shouldn’t change the director because she nows how teenager girls like their movies.the movie should try to be out another date(possible to be earlier.)PLEASE TAKE THIS INTO CONSIDERATION.
Look, I don’t know why anyone would boo hoo over this. Yes the movie was really good but I don’t see them going wrong with changing of a director. Just because the director will be a guy this time doesn’t mean that he’s going to put exotic looking cars in every scene, or girls half naked in every scene, or guy pranks in every scene. Plus 2/3 of the guys who did see the movie were dragged by there girlfriends to see it. So it’s clear that the target audience wasn’t for the guys.
I don’t think they should rush the sequel. I loved the books and the first movie because of the quality. I would rather wait and have a better movie. They don’t have to rush, fans of the book will not forget to see the sequel. A crappy movie would be a big disappointment, and will cut down the opportunity for the third book to be made into a movie. I think it is okay to replace Taylor, Jacob is suppose to hit a major growth spurt. That’s not going to happen with Taylor as the actor. Also, I enjoyed The Golden Compass so I have hopes for the director…
Omfg!! i am so happy that there is going to be a second movie to Twilight. I just hope that there are the other two movies after New Moon. I so can’t wait till it comes out. Twilight is my favorite movie ever i have seen it so many times. I am so happy. <3<3
I beleive that making another twilight movie in the time span of a year, dont get me wrong the sooner the better for the fans,and i am a huge fan, would most likely drop the movie quality and would not be as loved by fans as the first twilight. I think that the longer the time it takes to make the movie the better the movie would be. I suggest the same time span as the first twilight. But i can’t wait!!!
Ok first of all the movie was no where near as good as the book! It had to have been one of my worst disapointments! The guy who played jacob didn’t play him right at all I think he ruined the movie for me. And second of all I think anyone could have directed that movie better than her! It was hideous and I kno many others who thought so!
This film is amazing i think it has no flaws i can not wait for the next film i think the two main leads hust right for the part and i hope they release this soon because i love the romance
The release date for new moon is way to early!!!! They cant rush this movie. Twlight was alright but if they rush new moon their going to miss things. Please please move the release date to the middle of 2010 and take your time!!! The fans of the twlight saga are counting on you to make new moon come to life. KEEP TO THE BOOK. You didn’t with twlight which as first ruined it for me but after time I got use to it but i dont want to have to do that with new moon.
I absolutely adore Twilight, and im super excited for the sequel. BUT, in order to have a GOOD sequel, all actors should stay the same. Jacob being replaced would change the view of the whole story, and why should he be replaced when he did an amazing job in Twilight? DONT CHANGE ACTORS!

its just rong, if you saw the first movie your gonna be
expecting the same character so in my option,you guys
should not change taylor and dont change the directer.
They have to make the movie faster only to keep the same actors, and since in the books the vampires arent suppost to change. And if they take a loong time to make the movie then the actors will change physically in time. And that wouldnt make much sense if that isnt suppost to happen
