Original Star Wars Trio To Appear In Episode VII?

George Lucas has strongly hinted that Luke, Leia and Han will all appear in Star Wars Episode VII, with Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher and Harrison Ford reprising their roles.

It’s quite possible the best bit of casting news we’ve ever heard. We recently read that Carrie Fisher had signed on for the new movie (or had she?) but George Lucas has now blown the whole thing wide open, declaring that they are indeed going for a full house.

The most interesting part of the story is that the trio reportedly signed on before the Disney sale actually went through, meaning a reunion has been on the cards for some time – though George was obviously playing them close to his chest.

Lucas said in a recent interview: “We had already signed Mark and Carrie and Harrison – or we were pretty much in final stages of negotiation. So I called them to say, ‘Look, this is what’s going on'”

“Maybe I’m not supposed to say that. I think they want to announce that with some big whoop-de-do, but we were negotiating with them.”

He refused to say whether the negotiations had been successful or not, but we’ll eat our Tauntaun if it turns out that they weren’t. All we hope is that Abrams treats the grand reunion a little better than he did with Star Trek’s awful Leanord Nimoy shun-in.

Star Wars: Episode VII will be directed by J.J. Abrams and open in the UK in 2015.

I think this is awesome that the original trio is coming back in star wars episode VII! I can’t wait to see the battle scenes with jedi grandmaster Luke skywalker! I can’t wait to see Han solo cool attitude and lines! I can’t wait to see where Princess Leia has been up to in the past 38 years in 2015! This is going to be the biggest movie of all time, probably bigger than Avater and its sequels!
