Ridley Scott’s ‘The Counsellor’ Trailer

Ridley Scott's The Counsellor Trailer
Ridley Scott is back after the not-quite-sure-if-it-was-good-or-not Prometheus, with gritty crime thriller The Counsellor.

Based on author Cormac McCarthy’s first original screenplay to be produced, the thriller has a cast list bursting with names including Brad Pitt, Cameron Diaz, Penelope Cruz, Javier Bardem, Michael Fassbender and Natalie Dormer.

McCarthy is best known for the adaptations of his books No Country For Old Men (also starring Bardem) and The Road. Although The Counsellor is McCarthy’s first produced screenplay, it is not the first he has written – No Country For Old Men was originally conceived as a screenplay.

The Counsellor stars Fassbender as an upstanding lawyer dragged into the drugs underworld, and the trailer just oozes McCarthy’s trademark grit.

Bardem plays the film’s villain, rocking yet another terrifying hair-do to add to his collection that also includes No Country For Old Men‘s Chigurh and Skyfall‘s Silva.

Production in London was halted for a week in August 2012 when director Scott flew home to be with the family of his brother, director Tony Scott, after his tragic death. The Counsellor will be dedicated to his memory.

Expect to see it in the US October 25th, UK November 15th.

    Great cast. Meh director.

For those who disagree see recent work: Robin Hood, Body of Lies, American Gangster, A Good Year, Kingdom of Heaven.
Alien was a very long time ago.
