Report: Bryan Cranston Is Man Of Steel 2’s Lex?

It seems speculation about Bryan Cranston being cast as Lex Luthor has just gone from rumour to real, with a report that he’ll star in the Man of Steel sequel and beyond.

The Breaking Bad star has reportedly signed for at least a six-appearance deal, and possibly as many as ten. That’s a lot of movies, but remember that these may not all be directly Superman films – Warner Bros is building its DC universe to rival Marvel’s, so we could see him popping up anywhere.

Apparently the official announcement is to be made after the finale of Breaking Bad, however we’d expect it may come sooner if this leak is legitimate.

The same report also claims that Ben Affleck has signed a 13-appearance deal as Batman. Again, this could be a sign that Warner is heating up the DC machine for a big output in the coming few years.

Mark Strong has also been rumoured for the Lex Luthor role, however his role as Sinestro in Green Lantern is said to have played against him, as he may make another appearance as the villain somewhere down the line.

Does this mean we could see a Bryan Cranston and Ben Affleck showdown? It’s looking very likely.

I don’t think that would be a bad idea, Brian Cranston as Lex Luthor,it’s something to think about.

Not creative enough. Seems like an obvious choice given his powerful, manipulative role as Walter White. Also, they’re both bald.

However, Breaking Bad is one of the greatest shows ever created, and Bryan Cranston was a reason for that. So, while not outside the box, I can never say Cranston is a bad choice.
