The Last Of Us To Be Turned Into A Live-Action Movie

Naughty Dog’s hit PlayStation 3 game, The Last of Us, will get the big screen treatment.

Neil Druckmann, the game’s creative director, is set to write the script, while Naughty Dog co-presidents Evan Wells and Christophe Balestra will be ‘creative architects’ on the project.

Screen Gems will distribute and Sam Raimi will also be involved under his Ghost House Pictures production company.

“When I saw the quality of the storytelling, I knew the audience for this project was far greater than just the gaming community and that Neil Druckmann must write the screenplay,” said Screen Gems president, Clint Culpepper.

The game follows Joel and Ellie, two survivors in a post-apocalyptic world following the outbreak of an infectious pandemic.

Since its release, it’s attracted a large amount of praise and won numerous awards for its powerful storytelling and character development, and so it feels perfectly ripe for the big screen.

Who would you like to see play Joel and Ellie? Sound off below.

for the last of us cast for the big screen i had the idea that Ellen Page fits perfect to do the role of Ellie.

I agree with Nick. I think that she would fit the role of Ellie perfectly, and since Ellie already looks almost exactly like Ellen Page thats a natural choice. For the role of Joel I’d like to see Sharlto Copley (District 9) [^.^]
