97 million people decided to watch the Superbowl, making it the second most viewed television program in America of all time. But more importantly, the ad breaks included several major movie teasers that have now made their way online.
G.I. Joe: Rise Of Cobra -
The stuff in Paris, with acid eating the Eiffel Tower, looks like Team America: World Police, but ninjas somersaulting will never stop being cool. I have a shred of hope for this one, even though I watched Van Helsing… Enjoy it, before they run out of explosion footage and have to tell a story.
Transformers 2 (Revenge Of The Fallen) -
It’s a Michael Bay film, so that means aircraft carriers and asteroids crashing through stuff – Only this time he’s gone one further and put his two favourite things in one shot. Overall, footage looks identical to the first film. Presumably it’s Devastator that’s lolling about at the end, the Transformers are just as indistinguishable as before.
Star Trek -
More frat boy antics from Captain Kirk. Continues to look visually stunning and will certainly have more depth than any of the other titles here.
Year One -
It’s a bold move to make your teaser just a single entire sketch, rather than the usual flash cut scenery and one liners. Your enjoyment of this will depend on whether you’re in the ‘Paul Rudd is the best comedian in the world’ camp, or whether you wonder quite what all the fuss is about.
Land Of The Lost -
I was hoping Will Ferrell would find a different gear for this movie as it’s much more story driven, and not about sport. However, the teaser shows it’s the same old Will, doing the same old stint, only this time cowering from dinosaurs instead of a bear on the loose. Still looks funny though.

Transformers actually looks kind of good … but then again, so did the trailers for the first one.
G.I. Joe looks like with worst piece of shit Dennis Quaid has starred in since his last film. And that’s saying something, even though I don’t remember what that movie was.
Year One … is that the best sketch they have in that thing? If so, they’re screwed … and I really love Paul Rudd.
Land of the Lost … I’m sick of that Will Ferrel too, cause I’ve seen Stranger Than Fiction and know he can really do some great stuff. Still looks amusing.
Star Trek look s abit better, but I’m still dubious.
I think it will depend on who they are trying to target.
If the Will Ferrell one is for kids with stuff to make grown-ups laugh I think it will work quite well.
I love Michael Cera and Jack Black so have high hopes for Year One
Star Trek by JJ Abrams has got to be cool … han’t it?
I enjoyed Transformers at the cinema so more of the same would be OK by me.
Most dubious about GI Joe. Could be great if it’s for kids (like Adam said, somersaulting will never stop being cool) but probably try to be too cool for school and FAIL
I think the GI JOE trailer looked awesome it makes me want to know more about them.
Also the transformes 2 trailer was smoking i loved the first and the second looks even cooler,
I want william shatner to have a small role in the new star trek movie!!! I can’t beleive they aren’t putting him in it!!!! Find away to put him in it??? Trust me its a good idea?????
