The third chapter of the Twilight series will turn up very quickly after the second – the Eclipse movie release date has been set for just 7 months after New Moon.
Eclipse (or ‘The Twilight Saga: Eclipse’ as it’s now called) is scheduled to open Wednesday, June 30, 2010. New Moon is released November 20, 2009.
This puts Eclipse as a summer blockbuster, with the Independence Day holiday its first weekend.
Distributors Summit are looking to strike while the iron is hot, and the cast is young. Here they’ve been squeezed out of winter into summer by Harry Potter. Deathly Hallows Part 1 already has the pre-Thanksgiving release date in 2010, so launching Eclipse the same time of year as Twilight and New Moon would have put it into direct competition with the wizard.
ECLIPSE SPOILERS! The movie’s plot goes like this – As Seattle is ravaged by a string of mysterious killings and a malicious vampire continues her quest for revenge, Bella once again finds herself surrounded by danger. In the midst of it all, she is forced to choose between her love for Edward and her friendship with Jacob – knowing that her decision has the potential to ignite the ageless struggle between vampire and werewolf. With her graduation quickly approaching, Bella has one more decision to make: life or death.
Twilight and New Moon adapter Michelle Rosenberg (Step Up, TV’s Dexter) will pen the Eclipse screenplay. All the cast are expected to return.

Yeah, I hope they don’t mess it up. Because in my opinion I think that Eclipse was the best book.

I am so excited about this and cannot wait to see it. I just hope they bring back the same cast. I agree … Eclipse was my favorite book as well. Wonder if they will also make Breaking Dawn … if so, that should be interesting? If not, they should at least tie the wedding to the end of Eclipse.

eclipse in my opinion was the best book. im pretty sure that they are going to make bd into a movie, i mean why not do the last one if your going to make the “saga.”
the release date for eclipse being on a wednesday seems a little akward but people will be just that more excited to see it.
also with that in mind, june sets a very good standard for the release date because its summertime and schools out for most kids(:

I Love twilight and i hope the both new moon and eclipse is better than the fist movie, I am happy that we dont have to wait a long time after new moon comes out for eclipse to be released the only thing is i heard that Robert Paterson will not be playing edward cullan in the 3rd and final movie of the twilight saga in my opion it wont be the same without him as edward cullan. So if anyone has heard this or knows different can they post sumthing so i can find out.
No, i havn’t heard that, but if he isn’t playing edward, that will be so sad. He’s perfect for the part!! I love Twilight and i totally agree, it wouldn’t half as good without Rob.

Yeah, i have read all the book like 8 times aswell, i think im abit addicted. lol….i love them all…
7months won’t be enough time to put the quality us fans want. People are going to rush to finish the movie and its only going to disappoint the fans. Im just as excited as the next person for the next two movies to come out, but think about it.
OMG! The twilight saga are my favorite books ever! they are so addicting and once i start reading it i can never find the strength to put it down! As you may have heard New Moon comes out on November 20th 2009 and it comes out on dvd December 16th. Eclipse will be in theatres June 30th 2010 but i have nooo idea when its supposed to come out on DVD im so excited and they better make a breaking dawn movie cause its the end of all the twilight book and renesmee is a very special character! New Moon was my favorite book cause im in love with taylor lautner and his character makes you fall even more in love with him. Jacob Black is cocky, yet addicting.. Anyways, im psyched for new moon and i cant wait to see it! im deffinitely going to buy the movie no matter what. i think it will be better cause they have a new director and he might make it look a little more interesting instead of being able to tell they are acting… I love you taylor!!
