Final Wolverine Trailer

final-wolverine-movie-trailer.jpg
The final theatrical trailer for X-Men Origins: Wolverine has clawed its way online.

For what was initially touted as a solo outing for the franchise’s most popular character, X-Men Origins: Wolverine does seem to rely heavily on cameos from other mutants…It’s a great shame this film doesn’t appear to rival Marvel’s recent output, Iron Man and The Incredible Hulk, in terms of quality, some of the action and most of the dialogue looks stilted. But it can’t possibly be as bad as the last X-Men movie. It can’t. Not just because that movie was so horrendous, but because Jackman really hasn’t been in a good film since The Prestige, and he’s made five since then…his star status isn’t exactly in jeopardy, but still. He deserves better.

Didn’t your mother tell you never judge a movie by it’s trailer

    hey! stop raping X3.
    it was a fun movie

that WOULD make sense thom, except for trailers are made for the sole purpose of judging the movie before you see it… :D

  • Thom said:

You would think so wouldn’t you but don’t you ever get the feeling that the people who make the trailers have nothing to do with the film itself ;-)

Casting looks good either way, especially Ryan Reynolds and Taylor Kitsch. Next “Must see” on my list.

Why didn’t they keep the original guy from the first X-men film, Tyler Mane (just wondering, I’m sure they picked the new guy for some sort of good reason).

  • dnwilliams (author) said:

i can’t answer that, jennlee. i assume it’s because the role requires more in this film and they wanted an actor who could equal jackman dramatically, which some felt former-wrestler tyler mane was incapable of.

i normally hate it when actors get cheadled like this, but schrieber is quite terrific. i do wish they’d kept the look that they established in the first movie though, this interpretation of the character is virtually unrecognisable!

Well your reply makes enough sense to me, the new guy does seem to be capapable of delivering more ferousity. I guess they assumed the new look from the Origins comic series would be the best way to go all around.

On another topic I think it’s funny that characters like Sabertooth and Cyclops will be in this film when they so obviously didn’t recognize Logan in the first X-men film *shrugs*.

  • dnwilliams (author) said:

if sabretooth and dog are one and the same then it does indeed make more sense, i hadn’t considered that…

as for the other stuff…i doubt that cyclops will actually encounter wolverine in the film, and sabretooth DEFINITELY recognises him in the first x-men movie (lots of dog tag holding etc.) it’s wolverine with the memory problems ;)

This trailer looks great. I’m there opening night. However, in the first X-Men movie, Professor X explained that Wolvie was attacked by an associate of Magneto’s called Sabretooth. The name didn’t seem recognizable to Wolvie, unless Victor Creed didn’t go by the name Sabretooth yet. I don’t know if I would have included Cyclops, but I may be pleasantly surprised.

in the first x-men movie wolverine doesn’t remember anything, but that definitely wasn’t meant to be his first encounter with sabretooth

For sure. In the scene where Wolverine and Rogue had the car accident, Wolverine sniffs and the claws come out like he knows who it is. That clearly tells us that he encountered Sabretooth before.
