Yesterday Paramount announced that the next installment of the Transformers franchise would hit the theatres on July 1st 2011. Well it turns out that (to quote Cool Hand Luke) “what we have here is failure to communicate”. It seems that the studios think they settled on that date but Bay thinks they settled on a completely different date.

Wait a minute! I said I was taking off a year from Transformers. Paramount made a mistake in dating Transformers 3 – they asked me on the phone – I said yes to July 4 – but for 2012 – whoops! Not 2011!!! That would mean I would have to start prep in September. No way. My brain needs a break from fighting robots.
So it looks like we’ll have to hold our breath until 2012 for our next dose of giant robots turning into stuff and/or beating the circuits out of one-another. It’s possible that the studio might hold Bay to their agreed upon date, though it sounds like there is nothing in writing so it seems unlikely.
UPDATE: Bay has now agreed to go with the studio’s choice – Transformers 3 will officially be released 29th June 2011. With some 3D and IMAX screenings from 9pm on 28th June. That’s final.
This a cool movie sucks we will have to wait two years just to see it i say shut up about the 2012 stuff it says in the bible once everyone has a chance to believe in god the jesus will back to the earth witch is the rapture then he will take all us believers with him thats the end of that i heard though that megan fox wont even be in this movie in shia lebouef will witch actually i think hes not that godd of an actor and its true shia admits to messing up both transformers 2 and indiana jones but still they were good movies.
I bet in 2012 real transformers are gonna come to earth. Nuf-Said!
yeah you’ll be alive to see the movie idiot for everyone that believes the world is gonna end the only reason every one thinks that the world will end is cause the calander for the myans or whatever ended and what happens when calanders end the next month starts the only thing that’ll happen is a winter stolstis just like every year after december if the world was plannin on destroyin itself it woulda done so already it wouldnt plan a date to do it

Ok for all of you who are reading this. there is no mayan prophecy about the world ending on 12 20 2012. It is simply the end of the mayan calander which, repeats itself. it is a never ending cycle. it just simply starts over. who ever started the BS about it being the end of the world was some paranoid idiot who can’t read. so before you listen to any rumors. stop being lazy and do some real research.
Oh, my god. Seriously guys, such a troll heavy post. Let me break this down logically for you.
1. If seeing a movie is a the top of your worries of things to do before you die, then you need professional help, or you need to ditch the 8 pound 18 inch tall optimus prime cast iron actionfigure(yes i saw it at wal mart) get some contacs, lose some weight, get some acne cream, and make finally moving out of your parents basement and getting laid your number one worry before you die.
2. The 2012 end of the world prophecy does not come from the Bible(old or new testament) It comes from that quack Nostradomus that predicted that based on the aztec calender ending on december 21st 2012, the world is going to end.
3. For all of you Megan Fox haters out there. Yes they pawned her out to the drooling virgin fanboys out there, yes the movie could have been kick ass without such lucious eye candy to distract you from the fighting robots. But heres the thing, they had to put something in the movie to attract more people than just the small demographic of 80′s geeks who have every episode of every series of the transformers on dvd special box set blue ray collectors edition with the limited edition trading cards that might be worth something some day. So the easy choice was a hot ass to attract us normal people to a movie that is based off a tv show from the 80′s that actually itself was spawned from a line of foreign toys. So Fighting robots makes nerds happy, hot piece of ass makes everyone else happy, thus attracting more than the drooling basement dwellers to the theater, lining michael bays pockets and hencforth making him happy enough to make an even more kick ass sequel.
4. I think Mickey Rourke said it best in iron man 2. He man, dont get too attached to things, learn to let go. In other words, quit holding on to every aspect of the original series where optimus is supposed to be a red cab over truck, the matrix was a round thing not a double bladed dagger thingy, and it was always in optimus’s chest not stuck in a pyramid. Details man, nobody cares, that was my biggest gripe was when i went to see the first one on opening night, i sat next to some jackass that bitched and complained about every little thing in the movie that didnt follow the original cartoon exactly. I mean i watched the cartoon growing up, and yes i noticed the movie was different, but damn, it was still a good movie, and because they didnt follow the original story exactly, i didnt know what was going to happen next, but missed some parts because this stranger sitting next to me would not shut his halitosis hole long enough for me to hear the movie.

People SHUT UP!! This is about the new Transformers movie NOT 2012 end of the world crap! I mean come on, i could go outside tomorrow and get hit by a truck. NO ONE knows when the end will come. I do know God doesn’t want us to listen to false prophets and i think ANYTHING not from God is false…period. ANYWAYS…. i can’t wait for this movie to be released. I love all the movies!

i have 1 question? how much does it cost to make a transformers movie? how much would transformers 3 cost?
I would estimate around $150-200m.
uhhh the world will end when the next ice age comes which is about 2000 years is what my gr10 science teachrt. he said what the scientists were saying. or when every country nukes each other. But do to the c02 levels that keep rising in the air the earth will end if humanity doesn’t first. i cant wait for T3! XD
