12.06.08 # Sequel # 273 CommentsDirector Louis Leterrier says he would “love to do” Hulk 3 and has been practically begging fans during TV interviews to “make this a franchise”. “I’ll do another Hulk sequel any day of the week. I love the character, I love the TV show. I love that he’s an anti-hero.”
Edward Norton had a serious falling out with Marvel during production over his script rewrite, but says “The whole thing was to envision it in multiple parts. We left a lot out on purpose. The Incredible Hulk is definitely intended as chapter one.”
Can Norton’s relationship with Marvel be repaired in time for him to return as Banner? We’ll have to wait and see.
So who is the Hulk going to face down next? Letterier let slip recently that Samuel Sterns, played by Tim Blake Nelson in the movie, is being set-up to become the villain known as… The Leader.
In the comics, Sterns is transporting gamma-irradiated waste when it explodes, transforming him into a green skinned, super intelligent criminal, complete with protruding brain. When he’s not trying to study the Hulk, he’s bent on world domination and has an army of super strong, virtually invulnerable plastic ‘Humanoids’ to help him. He also creates android duplicates of people, including, when it suits him, the President.
So he’s not the easiest character to adapt to the big screen…
Depending on the timing though, you may see Ed Norton and the Hulk somewhere else first -
Marvel is keen to have Norton reprise the role in The Avengers, which already has a release date of July 2012. Leterrier says he wants to direct that too, but then, so does Iron Man helmer Jon Favreau…
Leterrier has stated if he was put in charge of The Avengers, he’d pit the Hulk against Iron Man because, “after being chased for so many years, he’d lose it”.
Hulk as bad guy? Could be interesting.

UPDATE: JANUARY 2011 – We now know that Ed Norton has indeed been replaced, by Mark Ruffalo, and The Hulk will be seen in The Avengers next (see Best Movies Of 2012).
UPDATE: AUGUST 2012 – Marvel have revealed which movies they will be releasing up to 2015. They do not include a new standalone Hulk movie, despite the popularity of the character in The Avengers. However, he is likely to cameo in at least one other standalone, and there will be an Avengers 2. Let us know in the comments if you still want to see a Hulk 3, and whether you thought Mark Ruffalo was better than Ed Norton.
UPDATE: FEBRUARY 2013 – A credible rumour says that Marvel plan to launch Hulk into space at the end of The Avengers 2, setting up a standalone Planet Hulk movie. Read more here.

l think the hulk should go up on a long building then the hulk dies then he falls of the building then boom…the red hulk takes over the green hulk then he says “l will protect you” because Betty is going to get killed by the bad guy then like always red hulk kicks ass then red hulk jumps down to KILL BETTY but green hulk takes over then Bruce turns normal then… something sick happens…but l am going to let you think of that one … YOURSELF oh bye the way sick means something exiting happens.Please reply and put thumbs up.Hope you liked my ending for hulk 3.
I watched the The Avengers and it was FREAKING AWESOME! I like them all but the Hulk/Bruce Banner STANDOUT among the rest. Mark Ruffalo did an AMAZING job and he gave JUSTICE to Hulk/Bruce Banner compared to the other 2 Hulk movies. Marvel and Disney made an EXCELLENT decision for giving the role to Mark Ruffalo. We NEED a new Hulk movie of Mark Ruffalo! WE NEED MORE!

IDC who the bad guy is I just want another Hulk movie. I think he is the best hero ever and I want another movie. Simple, y wouldn’t they make another movie, I mean come on, Hulk deserves it, he is a beast!!!
the avengers movie was the BEST movie of all time and Mark Ruffalo played the Hulk perfectly and fit Bruce Banner exactly the way it was meant to be portrayed. There NEEDS to be another Hulk solo movie starring Mark Ruffalo and it should lead from the avengers when he leaves with tony stark. Maybe stark finds away for banner to completly control the hulk as indicated in the avengers at the end in the big fight scenes where the hulk is clearly a good guy. Then Hulk can Fight his own battles against the foes of earth.
I think red hulk should be born with abomination and hulk and his side kick abomb take them on hulk and abomb get caught and red hulk almost kills abombination when leader saves him.
Then hulk and abomb ecsacp and turn red hulk in to iron man and the hulk busters then asborbing man is wating for leader then when he comes bck hulk abomb and iron man arrive iron man vs leader abomb vs abomination and hulk vs absorbing man.
Then abomination ecsaps zemo and lord manderan want him to join the masters of evil! abomination is still to weak to fight them so he says ok that will be for avengers 2 or 3 mabye 4

I want to say that the Hulk in the Avengers 2012 wasn’t as good as The Incredible Hulk 2008 film. Mark Ruffalo looked nothing like Bruce Banner the Hulk and by not bringing anything to the the character.Edward Norton is better suitable for Bruce Banner Hulk. That’s why they having a Hulk TV series next year sometime in February or March 2013.
I definitely hope they create a second Hulk!
And the introduction of the Leader sounds like an interesting development, however I do hope they tweak it a little.
I’m actually rather happy they changed actors for Bruce Banner.
Mark Ruffalo suits the bumbling, concerned Bruce Banner more than I found Edward Norton did.
I believe Bruce Banner will always be reluctant about having to use the Hulk and the Mark Ruffalo Bruce seemed to show that more.
i just thought i’de say that i’m writing the script for the Avengers 2 and i don’t know where to give it off. who knows? any way, i love the Hulk and am a big fan
Edward Norton is the best Bruce Banner out there and its will come out in 2015 and sequel to Incredible Hulk .
I loved mark ruffalo as the hulk and I think you should keep him as the hulk for the hulk 3
I met Lou Ferrigno and recommend Norton to the reboot of The Incredible Hulk 2008. Come on no Mark Ruffalo because he too socky and no perfect match like Edward Norton if I was you I wouldn’t say that because not the real Bruce Banner and doesn’t bring nothing to the character like Norton.
Edward Norton didn’t fit the bill, his ship has sailed. James Franco would be ok but I didn’t mind Ruffalo. I’d like to see Lou in a tv series like game of thrones but his opinion on who banner should be is irrelevant…
