Crank 2: High Voltage Soundtrack

Crank 2: High Voltage soundtrack (songs) (OST) - Listen To It Here
The Crank 2: High Voltage soundtrack. Hollywood must be getting really desperate. They’re finally getting something right. They have opened the doors to one of the most insanely influential new composers of our time. From the moment Fantomas: The Director’s Cut dropped in 2001, composer Mike Patton was destined to work as a film scorer.

Not only does the Crank 2 soundtrack contain all of Patton’s teeth grinding style, it’s loaded with 32 glorious tracks. This is a work that Patton fanatics will grab without regard for the film that it’s made for. I’m not saying the film is bad. It’s a perfect vehicle for his style. His music always can and will stand alone.

There’s definitely a trace of Morricone as with much of his previous work, but his style overcomes any sense of influence. In my opinion, he is THE next great composer for this new era of cinema. Mike Patton is hard to classify in any genre. I like to think of him as Schizophrenic Classical. That’s right, next time you’re in a record store, ask where that section is. It’s wall to wall Patton. I guarantee.
