18.05.09 # News # 8 CommentsAfter months of to-ing and fro-ing, the Norse God of Thunder in Kenneth Branagh’s upcoming Marvel Thor movie has been cast. It is *not* wrestler Triple H as was previously rumoured (he can’t act!) No, it is this man:
Chris Hemsworth!
You may be asking yourself, “Who on earth is this Mister Hemsworth? I am not familiar with such an actor. Why is he Thor?”
Well, you with the snooty thought process, this man is currently on screens in a brief role as Captain Kirk Snr in JJ Abrams’ Star Trek reboot. He’s also currently filming for Joss Whedon’s Cabin in the Woods and will be the leading man in the yet-to-be-shot Red Dawn. If that’s not enough, he was only in Home and Away for, like, a hundred and seventy episodes.
This is good news for the long-delayed superhero flick. Expect more casting announcements in the coming weeks.

I pictured Thor as being a tad more God Like… no some skinny little emo from Home And Away
well thats a dissapointment. And i was looking foward to seeing this flick and the avengers but i won’t hold my breath for those two now.
This sucks!!THOR has to be of Scandanavian descent.100% blond he’s got to have a body close to a John Cena and have an attitude!
Casting triple H as THOR would have been my obvious choice. He has the body and attitude going for him. Yes he IS arrogant.

Anyone else wondering what he’s been in: he was Johnny Storm in Fantastic 4, which I don’t understand. What are they going to do when they film the Avengers? Will Fantastic 4 not be in it or will he be doing both parts?!?

Hey y’all, I made a mistake. The guy who played Johnny Storm, Chris Evans, is going to be Captain America / Steve Rogers, NOT Chris Hemsworth.
But the issue is still there, what will they do with the same guy playing Johnny Storm playing Captain America?

@ B White- You know that’s a very good question.I guess its because Evans is bankable and that he did such a good job as playing torch.So he already has a feel to what’s its like playing a comic hero.
Come on Marvel you blew it casting this guy as Thor while he may be a good actor no way is he Thor even if you add body armor lol You need someone way bigger. Thor in the comics is like six foot six 250 plus…
