The new trailer for disaster epic 2012 has debuted online. The movie comes from Roland Emmerich, director of Stargate, Independence Day and The Day After Tomorrow. Michael Bay may have the monopoly on hot chicks, explosions and, despite McG’s best efforts, Giant F***ing Robots, but nobody razes buildings to the ground like Emmerich. Nobody. The man will not rest until he has decimated every monument known to man.

Emmerich’s excuse for doing what he does best this time is simple: 2012 is when the world ends. Author John Cusack, his estranged wife Amanda Peet and President Danny Glover cannot avert the crisis, only survive it.
