Despite her acting being the subject of much criticism, Natalie Wood still managed to star in many high profile movies – West Side Story and Rebel Without A Cause to name a couple. Wood also received Oscar, Bafta, and Golden Globe nominations during her movie career. But alas, it was to be cut short when she died of accidental drowning at the age of 43 in 1981 whilst doing location work for Brainstorm. The film was released two years after Wood’s death, with a missing scene as it was incomplete. Critics liked it, but the film failed at the box office.
What about Heath? Or Bernie Mac?
Heath and Bernie Mac are mentioned at the beginning, they inspired the list.
What about Ossie Davis? He died while filming the movie “Retirement” which was later re-named and released as “Three Days To Vegas” last year. He was replaced by actor Bill Cobbs in the film.
It’s really a shame that Brandon Lee and John Candy died so young, The Crow is still to this day one of my favorite movies, and who doesn’t love a good John Candy film?
I was never a fan of Aaliyah, but I loved the Queen of the Damned. Would have loved to of seen a sequel.
Other names that should have been recognized was Chris Farley and John Belushi. Also I saw someone say Bela Lugosi. And of coarse the late Heath Ledger for his more than amazing recreation of the infamous character The Joker, aswell as several films he previously made(excluding BBM in my opinion..).

Too a much lower scale, Vic Morrow. He was killed on the set of “The Twilight Zone” movie back in the 80′s. He not only didnt survive to see the end of the movie, that damn movie killed him.
so very true.. it is a shame that there ARE ten and even more great actors and actresses that couldnt see their final film… what a shame

Great actor
is there any room for good old Donald Pleasence, the man who made the Halloween films bearable while it had a crap load of sequels. Poor man died before the completion of editing “Halloween The Curse of Micheal Myers” and a new ending had to be filmed where he ended up being killed by Micheal instead of surviving the ordeal. Rest in peace.
Another one that comes to mind is Heather O’ Rourke, the little girl in the “Poltergeist” movies. She died before the completion of “Poltergeist 3″ and they ended up filming the rest of the movie with somebody in shadow for the rest of it becuase no one could be found who looked like her. Rest in peace.
Tupac Shakur should definitely be on this list he didnt get to see two of his last movies and was a great actor!!!!
As much as I can see the tragic element to these stories the terms used had me laughing out loud? Why are drugs personified and accused of robbing river phoenix of his life? For those who died of natural causes I really do feel a lot of sadness. For those dying of overdoses etc well let’s use their lives as a lesson that all that glitters certainly is not gold
WELL YES, IT IS A GREAT TRAGEDY OF BRUCE LEE. HE DIED WAY BEFORE HIS TIME!!! HE DEFINITELY WAS AND STILL IS TODAY, THE BEST MARTIAL ARTIST OF ALL TIMES. AND NO ONE WILL EVER BE ABLE TO TAKE HIS PLACE! NOT ONLY THAT BUT HE WAS AS WELL A VERY INTELLIGENT YOUNG MAN. FULL OF WISDOM AND KNOWLEDGE OF SOMEONE TWICE HIS AGE. I AM SURE THAT HE IS AND WILL FOREVER BE DEEPLY MISSED. WHAT A SHAME THAT HE HAS GONE AWAY FROM US SO SOON. AND SO TRAGICALLY. I MYSELF WAS A VERY BIG FAN INDEED.
AND FOR HIS SON BRANDON. WELL WORDS CAN NOT DESCRIBE THIS SITUATION. THIS IS EVEN MORE TRAGIC THAN YOU CAN WONDER. ANOTHER RISING STAR CUT DOWN IN THE DAWNING OF A BRIGHT AND SHINEY DAY. I AM VERY SAD FOR THE ENTIRE BRUCE LEE FAMILY. BUT HIS LEGACY WILL FOREVER LIVE ON.

ADDING TO THE BRUCE LEE THEORY. I DO IN SOME WAYS BELIEVE THAT IT WAS ULTIMATELY A GENERATIONAL/FAMILY CURSE THAT WAS PUT ON THE MALES IN THE BRUCE LEE BLOODLINE. I BELIEVE THAT BRUCE LEE INCCURED THE DEMONS UPON HIS LIFE FROM HIS FATHER WHO WAS TOO FEARFUL TO DEAL WITH THEM ON HIS OWN. BUT THE BIBLE DOES CLEARLY STATE THAT THE SINS OF THE FATHER SHALL SURELY BE PASSED ON TO HIS SEED. NOT SAYING THAT BRUCE LEE DID ANYTHING WRONG AT ALL. BUT I DO BELIEVE THAT BRUCE LEE HIMSELF, ALSO DID NOT DEAL PROPERLY WITH THESE DEMONS EITHER. WHICH WERE ULTIMALTEY PASSED ONTO AND TOOK THE LIFE OF HIS ONLY SON BRANDON AS WELL!!! I DON’T THINK THERE WAS A FAULTY PROP GUN. THIS SEEMS TO BE A CLEAR CUT CASE OF MURDER THAT WAS COVERED UP TO LOOK LIKE AN ACCIDENT! MANY PEOPLE THE WORLD OVER WERE VERY JEALOUS OF BRUCE LEE’S FIGHTING ABILITIES. HE WAS JUST A NATURALLY GIFTED FIGHTER. AS WAS HIS SON BRANDON. IN FACT HE WAS CONSTANLY CHALLENGED ALMOST EVERY WHERE THAT HE WENT AROUND THE WORLD. NO MATTER IF IT WAS FOR FILMING PURPOSES OR FOR SHEER PLEASURE. PEOPLE ALWAYS ACCOSTED HIM TO SEE IF HE COULD FIGHT IN REAL LIFE, THE WAY HE FOUGHT IN THE MOVIES. BUT LET ME TELL YOU FOLKS. BRUCE LEE WAS IN FACT THE REAL DEAL. AND HIS SON BRANDON WAS SURELY GOING TO CARRY ON HIS LEGACY. BECAUSE HE ALSO WAS UNTOUCHABLE IN THE MARTIAL ARTS CATAGORY, JUST LIKE HIS FATHER. BUT IN SPITE OF HIS SUPERIOR FIGHTING SKILLS, BRUCE LEE WAS A PEACEFUL MAN WHO HATED VIOLENCE. ESPECIALLY WHEN IT WAS COMMITTED AGAINST THE WEAK AND INNOCENT!!! THAT INDEED WOULD GET HIS BLOOD TO BOIL.
NEVER THE LESS, LET THE MAN REST IN PEACE BECAUSE IT WAS HE WHO BROUGHT MARTIAL ARTS TO THE WESTERN WORLD. AND HE ALMOST LOST HIS LIFE IN DOING SO. BUT LET ME SAY: LONG LIVE BRUCE LEE AND HIS LEGACY.

Talk about something out of the Twilight Zone both Bruce and Brandon Lee dying before their last movies come out is just plain freaky
No one mentioned that in the James Dean video he was being interviewed by Gig Young. Gig had his 4th or 5th wife, married three weeks to her, and killed her and then shot himself. A ‘sweet’ ending. Scary.
