Prince Of Persia Posters

Behold the first posters for Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. Unfortunately they don’t tell us much more than we already knew, the film will star Jake Gyllenhaal, Gemma Arterton and Ben “I’ll do anything” Kingsley.
Directed by Mike Newell (Donnie Brasco, Harry Potter & The Goblet Of Fire) the big-screen adaptation of the popular video game follows Prince Dasdan and a mysterious princess called Tamina on a mission to safeguard an ancient dagger that could unlock what is known as the Sands of Time, a force which leaves its possessor able to bend and break the rules of time.
The Prince of Persia video game series has been around for a long time (first one was released in 1989) and are very popular amongst gamers so it perhaps seems strange that it has taken until now to receive cinematic treatment.
These posters haven’t exactly whet my appetite for the film. In fact they look more like perfume adverts than film posters.

Prince of Persia, the new fragrance by Jake Gyllenhaal… Deny the Gayness
Being of a game turn movie has never been easy and this is one of those mistakes. For a game that has alot of unrealistic elements, they try to create their own ideas for it therefore having it so far away from the original theme that it kills it for us. As such realistic it looks too game-like as if its just some cosplay or some evil character from a childs fairytale.
Just saying that it leaves too much for the mind to fill. Just my opinion…
The latest PoP games are ultra stylized so I think this is a great look for the movie. The only think that kills it is the Disney logo.
Also, is Ben Kingsley gunning for a Ming the Merciless role?
Oh Ben Kingsley…
Thom, that Ming pose is uncanny.
i’ve pre-ordered that perfume on glamazon, i will smell like the desert.
I just saw the trailer to this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZgEt-4L3fKQ
Actually looks pretty decent. Very much in the style of PotC but also reminiscent of the video game (at least the version I have on the Wii). The female lead seems to be your average Cathrine-Zeta-Jones-in-the-mummy stereotype. Funny to hear Jake with a British accent! I have a feeling this will be a hit.
