As is the trend in Hollywood these days, the beloved horror/comedy franchise is slated for a remake, but luckily the creator is smart enough to figure out what makes the series work and stick with it by hiring character actor Brad Dourif to continue to voice the psychotic doll Chucky.

“who would you get that’s better? I mean with Chucky so much of it… and David [Kirschner, the producer] and I talk about this a lot, that because he’s a puppet, there’s an aspect of him that feels like he’s an animated character, so his voice is such an immense part of it as well as what he looks like. It’s almost like recasting Homer Simpson or something. If you could recast it, you would want the actor to sound kind of like it, but it would feel weird to just be completely different I think.
Bride of Chucky is one of my favourite horror/comedies of recent years, full of over the top gore and horror in-jokes, as well as the cheesy one liners Chucky is famous for, but apparently with the new remake the creators are doing away with the comedy aspect of the series and making it a full on horror. Personally I think the idea of a doll posessed by a dead serial killer is inherantly funny, and I can’t see it working very well if they take themselves too seriously, but maybe that’s just me. We’ll find out Fall 2010 at the earliest.

Please to goodness that this brand new chucky remake will be a whole lot different and better than the last ones to date so far. Bride of Chucky is the only one that stills out better than the other rest also included I think.

Its agood thing that they are taking the old and making it new with chucky besides im pretty sure it will be scary im mean the first three were scary. but there is just on question that is really bugging me is it going to have the same story plot but with new people
and also there has been alot of talking of a leprechaun vs chucky, is that true or is it all trash talk from fans or the movie directors

50/50 on this remake. it won’t be as catch as the first four. I thought it was funny more than frighting… it’s just the way they kill off their prey funny as hell when you think about it. looking at how they did it then and look at films today.
Remake, gets my seal of approval…I grew up watching the first film..going to the movies to see the second and third film…These movies were sick…lol..When I was like 5 or 6, I couldnt turn my lights off, cause I thought chucky was underneath the bed…lmao..good stuff…serious, HORROR AND SUSPENSE…All The Way!!!!!!! No comedy, maybe some dark humor, but thats it!!! This New Chucky Gets My Approval…U Should Get Rob Zombie To Do It…hehe
I agree with you but not with rob zombie, if he did it I would not like it what so ever. Seed Of Chucky Was A Big Mistake. I want things to be the way they use to be. dark humor is ok. but seed just had to much humor. its was f**king stupid as hell

Chucky is tight ass hell, except the last movie Seed of Chucky really sucked. But before that Bride and the other movies were awsome cant wait to see this movie, but just hope they dont f*** it up with too much visual effects.
