Five More Inglorious Bastards Join Tarantino Cast

Diane Kruger, Christoph Waltz and Paul Rust (great face) have signed up for Quentin Tarantino’s Inglorious Bastards.
They join Brad Pitt, Mike Myers, Eli Roth, and Michael Fassbender in the World War II drama which focuses on a French girl’s revenge against the Nazis, and also follows a group of Jewish-American soldiers fighting German forces in Nazi-occupied France.
Troy and National Treasure star, Kruger will take on the role of glamorous German actress, Bridget Von Hammersmark, while Waltz will play the main villain, Col. Hans Landa.
Also added are Spanish born Daniel Bruhl (role unknown) and German star Til Schweiger as a member of Brad Pitt’s team. Til Schweiger’s just finished filming his lead role in Uwe Boll’s Far Cry, so a bit of a step up there.
In stark contrast to Tom Cruise’s Valkyrie, the production actually seems to be casting Germans as Germans. Filming is set to begin in October, in Germany.

The Diane Kruger choice is a real headscratcher to me. She has never failed to completely underwhelm me with her performances in TROY and NATIONAL TREASURE movies. As a matter of fact the only reaction she’s ever gotten from me was in THE BIG BOUNCE (with Owen Wilson) when I became repeatedly unsettled by how anorexically skinny she looked in a bikini.
Yeah, wasn’t expecting the Kruger announcement. But several of his casting choices have never really been conventional, so I won’t hold it against him.
