G.I. Joe: Rise Of Cobra Reviews
A handful of G.I. Joe: Rise Of Cobra reviews have snuck out. Is it “Go Joe!” or “Hell No”?

I’m curious to see how this does. But usually if the YouTube trailer has been viewed 5 million times it means it’s going to be huge. It’s interesting that the studio have let the online community review it, but not the mainstream press. I’m reading this as smart, as film website owners are almost all the right age to remember G.I. Joe with great nostalgia.

And the movie sites are being extremely positive. Hopefully that’s accurate, here’s what they’re saying –

Dark Horizons -

It is with much surprise that one can report that director Stephen Sommers has more than redeemed himself after Van Helsing with this fun-filled, adrenalin charged action film whose sole purpose is to entertain its core male demographic audience with some superbly orchestrated action scenes, stylishly and energetically crafted in a taut, entertaining cinematic package.

CHUD

…a series of action set pieces strung together with a minimal amount of exposition, stopping only to catch his breath and to move the story along far enough to get to the next action set piece. And damn if it doesn’t work.

EmanuelLevy.com -

“G.I. Joe is not as cheesy or idiotic as Sommers’ former outings, ‘The Mummy,’ ‘The Mummy Returns,’ or ‘Van Helsing’… There’s a staggering level of cartoonish violence with heads and bodies chopped and flying up in the air, all without any visible blood.”

G.I. Joe: The Rise Of Cobra currently holds a 91% rating on Rotten Tomatoes from 11 reviews.

Dennis Quaid lives in an underground base, surrounded by the best of the world’s military. He is also in this movie.

    End.
