The 2012 movie is brought to us by master of disaster Roland Emmerich, director of ID4, Godzilla, The Day After Tomorrow and 10,000 B.C. The preview is trying to sell us on effects awesomeness. Let’s strip away the bulls**t and see it for what it is – a likely sign of the moviepocalypse.
2012 comes out November 13th.

There isn’t any evidence that the Mayans predicted anything bad for 2012, and a calendar doesn’t predict anything anyway. Everything in the movie is based on an Internet hoax with no basis in fact. Beware of any interpretations. Nobody knows if they are correct without having evidence that proves them beyond reasonable doubt.
However, there *is* evidence that lots of young people are becoming genuinely scared about what they have been told *will* happen in December 2012. Shame on those people who are making money from the scam.
Normally I would agree that a disaster movie is just a movie. This one is different – they have identified an actual date in the future when it *will* happen. Google: “2012 end of world” – you get 17,200,000 hits; search Amazon books for “2012 mayan” in the title – you get 339 hits. The majority of the websites and books will be adamant that there will be worldwide disaster, or even the end of the world, on December 21, 2012. However, ask them for evidence of it and they won’t be able to supply it. They have ‘blind faith’ in theories that don’t have a basis in fact.

I’m guessing that the movie bases all it’s information on the Mayans calendar. This is not the only information I have looked into although I would have to disagree that a calendar is of no use in fact. The Mayan Calendar has accurately predicted every Lunar and Solar eclipse to the day over thousands of years and the fact that these early people had such an in depth knowledge of the movement of the planets is amazing in itself.
Other evidence….. Nasa released information by accident about a large planetary type body which had been detected due to the gravitational effect it had on other planets in our solar system. It was then never mentioned again. The “red dwarf” possibly our own Sun’s binary twin is not visible to normal telescopes at the moment but it is visible to infra red.
Nasa launched Iras,and another infra red telescope has been built at the south pole at great expense to track the approach of this “Planet X”
Symbolism of this “winged planet” as it will appear in the sky is everywhere, in buildings and in old paintings.
I don’t expect anyone to take my word for it, I’m no expert but I take it seriously enough to be making plans and provisions for the hard times. I hope they never come. There are serious scientists giving lectures and making documentaries on this subject.
I don’t want to scare anyone only to share. Lets face it, at the begining of the trailer it says something along the lines of, what governments would do….nothing.

Interesting comment on the “winged planet”. Apparently the symbol appeared about 500BC or later in the Zoroastrian religion (Ancient Persia). It’s called the Faravahar. A similar symbol was used in ancient Egypt about 1,000BC ~ 2,000BC – thought to represent the Sun.

Maybe they should have done the prequel thing and called it “WATERWORLD BEGINS” instead. They could have just cast Kevin Costner as the hero. With a budget of 260 Million I hope their ad campaign or 4 Million will inspire at least a 100 million people to wonder into theater or this will end up being another financial “Disaster” movie instead. I am guessing if this film is anything like his last ones you might show up an hour into the film and catch all of the cool FX in the last hour, because the first hour will feel like a long trip on a greyhound bus. There is a another film coming out at the same time called DEFCON 2012 with a sci-fi storyline which sounds more interesting to me.
There is a planet called Nibiru or Planet X on its way and it will bring devostation to the earth. That’s what the movie’s based on. There are underground facilities already built world wide and the elite people have already reiceved tickets to avoid the disasters. However, all goivernments refuse to inform people at the moment. The planet will be visible in the sky globally in 2010 and people will panic by then. Just wait for your death folks and be ready. This is not a hoax and for real. Good luck for your own survival. Do some research by typing nibiru or planet x on youtube or google.

It is a cruel and cynical lie being promoted by scam artists after money: First they scare people to death that something terrible is going to happen, then they publish books and videos on “how to survive”.

Kasey – do not automatically believe anything you see on YouTube or those dodgy websites. They are telling lies. Because of their lies, and people like you, lots of young people in USA and other countries have become very scared. Some are even thinking about suicide!

After December 21, 2012, I expect the Internet will be flooded with apologies written by doomsayers whose claims didn’t have a basis in fact.
Shame on all those doomsayers (including the director of the film) who are making money from the scam.
I look forward to seeing the movie “2012″ this weekend. The CGI looked great. Maybe the story and acting won’t be up to par for everyone but the 6 bucks I’ll be paying for the matinee…. well… I think it will be well worth the price for the big special effects alone.
Do I think the world will end as we know it during that year? I wouldn’t count out the possibility. Neither do I count on it to happen. It’s important to keep an open mind about it all.
How much evidence do you need? There are signs of the end of the earth everywhere. Heaps of scientific evidence! You should all seek salvation from God before the last disaster and judgment day. So we can look forward to Gods coming and a new Heaven and New Earth.

I know there is plenty of rubbish on the net. There is also some amazing information! Just because something appears on Utube doesn’t make it rubbish. Some of the posts have originally come from great sources.
Global warming for example, I watched an amazing lecture on the subject given by a “Lord Monckton” given to the Free Market Institute in St Pauls. I would encourage anyone who is interested to watch this, the man is highly intelligent and puts the arguments, or rather facts brilliantly.
By the way….it’s on Utube!
