Hancock 2 – Sequel Plans
15.09.09 # Sequel # 7 Comments
Where do you take Hancock, the movie about a superhero that’s a miserable bum, when he stops being a miserable bum and puts on a uniform like the ones they wore in X-Men? Well, they’ll think of something – they have to – because a Hancock sequel is on its way.
Slight spoilers for the probable direction Hancock 2 will take:
The big reveal at the end of “Hancock” was that [Spoiler Alert!] both Smith and Theron’s characters are immortal gods who become vulnerable when near each other. For the sequel, Berg said we can expect the appearance of at least one more all-powerful god. What’s more, he’s got his eye on a well-known name to play a third superhero.
“We have [someone in mind],” Berg said. “I’m not gonna tell you who, but we have!”
It says a lot about the shape of modern cinema that we have several comic book movies not actually based on comic books, and now one appears to have become a franchise. Not surprising with Will Smith attached, because pretty much any movie he makes will bring in a enough money to warrant a sequel. I myself am looking forward to Happyness Returns, 8 Pounds and Made In America 2.

Will Smith could pick any script he wants in Hollywood, why would he return to this below-par material? Hancock 2 is meh.
Hancock was an OK movie, I think a sequel could easily better the original. The trouble is that these superhero movies are all a bit paint-by-numbers now, if you know what I mean.
Not sure what could happen plot wise, I’m sure they’ll churn out something pretty mediocre. Any bets it ends with the birth of a super-god baby
Can anyone think of a sequel that ends with a baby being born that hasn’t jumped the shark? Lethal Weapon 4 and the family photo spring to mind.
the first one wasn’t bad enough?
what about men in black 3?
men in black 3 is rumored to have lost tommy lee jones. and if hancock 2 is said to have 1 more “god” wouldn’t that mean theres 2? if i remember correctly they die in pairs.
Rumor is that Jason Bateman won’t be returning. That would be a damn shame.Watch the third all powerful god be Morgan Freeman.
