Saw 6 - Sequel Plans

Saw 6 is already in the works. Here’s what we know so far.
The reviews are declining sharply for each sequel in the series - Saw (46% on rotten tomatoes), Saw 2 (36%), Saw 3 (26%), Saw 4 (18%), Saw 5 (14%). But the box office grosses aren’t. Since Saw 3, the opening weekend totals have only dropped by $2m each time:
2004 - Saw - $18.2M opening - $55.1M cume
2005 - Saw 2 - $31.72M opening - $87M cume
2006 - Saw 3 - $33.6M opening - $80.2M cume
2007 - Saw 4 - $31.7M opening - $63.3M cume
2008 - Saw 5 - $29M estimated opening
Saw 5’s production budget was reportedly only $10.8 million and any franchise that’s tripling its budget on opening weekend is not going to be abandoned. On this scale of decline, the series has a looong way to go before it’s considered no longer financially viable.
So what can we expect from Saw 6? Saw 5 director David Hackl has confirmed he’s stepping aside for Kevin Greutert, who’s edited every Saw movie to date. Marcus Dunstan and Patrick Melton, who wrote Saws 4 and 5, will pen the screenplay.

As for returning cast members, Costas Mandylor (Mark Hoffman) has signed for Saw 6, as has Tobin Bell (Jigsaw).
The fate of Dr Gordon from Saw 1 remains the biggest mystery in the series. The reason he never reappeared in subsequent movies is that actor Cary Elwes filed a lawsuit in 2005 against the producers for shortchanging him on pay. The rumor is they have now made up and Leigh Whannell says Elwes might be back for Saw 6.
(Dr Gordon’s fate may actually be revealed in the upcoming Saw Video Game, since it’s written by original creators Leigh Whannell and James Wan and set at the same time as Saw 1).
There have also been hints that the infamous bathroom set could make a return, after an absence from Saw 5.
You can be damn sure that Saw 6 will be released Halloween 2009.

Dr. Gordon supposedly died…if i remember correctly they had his body still in the bathroom in saw two amputated foot and everything.
i would like to see more detail to the myterious ways of jigsaw. example in saw 3/4 there was much more for the victims to go through to get away from jigsaws plans. but trust me saw is my favorite lol
I want to see every major movie studio burn to the ground. It doesn’t have to be a movie.
i think that jill will walk down the hall stop at a door flash back to the box from jigsaw box and her pulling out the key then back to her pulling out a key and unlocking the door preses a butten and the walls come apart and sees hoffmen in box , preses another botten and hoffmen walks out of box and walks away
i cant help but feel that amanda should make an appearance somewhere, i mean, she was a crucial part of the Saw series.
And i dont see the need to find out dr gordon’s fate, there was no way he couldve surived with only one foot.
haha he cant surive with one foot.. are you kidding? lol i cut my foot off when i was 3 years old you can survive im 23 now lol… c’mon
pfft….
wants Amanda to return after being shot through the neck…but it’s sooooo IMPOSSIBLE for Dr.Gordon to be alive after amputating his foot. Do you Saw research before posting stupid opinions.
The body in Saw II was not Dr. Gordon, that was Adam. Amanda killed him after Dr. Gordon supposedly escaped.
If Amanda didn’t kill Dr. Gordon too, and he did somehow make it out, he is either working for Jigsaw or died because the police have never found the place he was held.
Amanda, or Hoffman, could have also caught him before he got out so he could show up in Saw 6 in another “test”. Not completely out of the question either considering Saw 3 lead us to believe that Matthews was killed by Jigsaw to clean up Amanda’s mess but then turns back up in Saw 4.
The box definately has to play a big part in the next one too. I would guess it’s probably the dirt Jigsaw had on Hoffman, based on some dialouge in the last movie, but I’m sure we will find out in 6. I’m also thinking something is going to happen to that FBI agent that found the two survivors. Why else would his file have been with the other five that Jigsaw gave Hoffman?
i definately think the box will play a part in the 6th film. and perhaps Dr Gordon to. I was annoyed at how Stratham died and not hoffman. for some reason? im not sure why. i think jill may play a bigger part in the 6th film aswell.
lol I still cant get over someone sayin its impossible that Dr gordon couldnt survive… lol i had take an hour trip in a helicopter to a bigger hospital when I cut my foot off. Dr gordon crawled out of the room anyway… that body is adams or whatever..
i think the box will play a big part in the next one too, but i also dont understand if jigsaw is dead or not, he showed back up in saw 5 and he was dead i mean the ripped him open and everything.
Things left for the franchise:
The survivors of Saw 5 (Brit and maybe the the drug addict)
The head of the FBI
The box Jill was given
Things I really don’t care about:
Whether Dr Gordon lived or died (he cut his foot off ffs! He failed the test!)
How Jigsaw decided to do something or other
What gave Jigsaw the idea to…
Seriously, Saw 5 was beyond awful. The first one was good, now they’re pulling the bottom of the barrel away to find new things.
Have Hoffman caught and the final person pass their test. That’s how the Saw storyline will end.
we can find out if the doctor will be in any other saw movies.. they showed a list on the 5th one of all of saw’s likely victims.. i tried to see if his name was on there but it was too quick… if he’s not, then they didnt find his body, and he might still be alive…
a question i have is who was that guy in saw 4, that came in to check on the trap hoffman and matthews were in.. remember the one with the neck all messed up…
A) No, it never showed Dr. Gordon’s body, ever. It was Adam and Xavier’s bodies in the bathroom, and thats all. Dr. Gordon managed to crawl away, and it never specified what became of him. Likely he died, but who knows with these Saw writers.
B) The dude with the thing on his neck was Jill Tuck’s lawyer and John Kramer’s business partner. Remember? Crooked lawyer, let Rigg get away with beating up the sick daddy? He also was the one who survived the test at the very beginning of Saw IV.
Are people really willing to spend their money watching this drivel at the cinema? They’re ripping you off, spewing out these badly written, now nothing more than slasher sequels every year (probably takes them an hour to write). The first film was awesome, second good despite the fact you could see the twist coming a mile off, but the others have been diabolical (havent seen saw 5 but Saw 4, one part of the twist was obvious and made no sense and the other was on a par with they woke up and it was just a dream). I hope Cary Elwes doesn’t come back, he’s actually a good actor and his talent is way beyond teen slasher sequels.
I thought the point of 5 was to shock everyone with ‘how it ends’. Or is that the mega twist at the end of the film- It doesn’t! Bin it now please!!
