Ground begins to vibrate, barely perceptible at first.
Growing stronger, rising in intensity and volume.
As if a freight train was coming toward them.
Slowly Royce stands up. Isabelle alongside him.
Ready for whatever comes next.
Dust and ash swirl all around, obscuring vision in all directions.
Then the cloud settles, revealing—
A PREDATOR SHIP
This isn’t the Enterprise. Ugly. Battered. Functional.
They stare.
A form SHIMMERS into view. A Predator. Another. More. About a dozen of them.
Royce and Isabelle. No energy to fight. No point to run. They simply wait.
Predators part like the Red Sea. Their leader — his armor different from the rest, covered in trophies from untold hunts — approaches.
Surveys up our duo. The devastation. Last but not least, the slain Black Super Predator.
Slowly he removes his helmet.
The face beneath it belongs to—
DUTCH
The man. The myth. The legend.
DUTCH
Not bad, kid. Not bad at all.SMASH TO BLACK

I thought Predators was great. Not a great movie per se, but it was exactly what I expected it to be, and it delivered on that expectation. And of course, lots of stuff blowed up real good.
There are so many possibilities for sequels and angles… the reintroduction of of Dutch, or Harrigan. I could also see a conspiracy angle whereby government officials are in league with the predator race to provide “game” in exchange for technology.
It’s also fun musing about the cross-overs that could take place…. Predators vs Bruce Willis’ John McLain, or The Transporter, or Rambo, or the Shark Wrangler from Deep Blue Sea, or the giant Alligator from Lake Placid, or Jane Lynch from Glee, or Dr. Evil’s ill tempered sea bass with laser beams coming out of their heads? Too bad Patrick Swayze died. Predator vs Dalton would be epic. Would the eagle claw work as well?
It could also be re-timed, since it has already been established that Predators have been coming to earth for centuries. What about Predators having at-it with elements of the 101st airborne in Normandy? How about having Nazis and Commies team up to battle Predators in Stalingrad 1942?
Finally, how about against the cute and cuddly, like Predator vs the Penquins of Madagascar? Or how about in the woods surrounding Camp Lazlo… against Raj the Elephant perhaps? Or how about against Perry the Platypus? Or the Care bears?…. or…
The possibilities are endless, as I hope too, are Predator sequels.

Sequels are nice, but where do they stop? I like a sequel, but I dont think reintroduction of old characters are always great, especially with the proposed Dutch scene that Rodriguez had. I think its over the top and becomes “unrealistic” if you can say that about a sci-fi movie. I personally don’t want to see team-ups like in AVP, or roles of people driving around spaceships, but thats just me. I hope they stick to the scenarios they have. Adding new weapons, like from when they went from the 1st to 2nd predators was great. Don’t get me wrong, I want new and different stories of predators, but I don’t want stupid story lines. Maybe a movie looking into the home world of the predators a lil more or more fights between the two predator clans would be interesting. Even watching them fight against other aliens (some of the skulls shown on the ship of predators 2 would be creative) or just something that keeps the predator being a constant B. A.
@ Kevin L, I have to agree, you almost limit yourself to the characters exclusively if you start re-introducing old characters. Although a cameo from Dutch would be cool I think “The Oak” is well more of a shrub these days, especially if you saw “The Expendables” where Arnie made a cameo. He was hurting, just by the way he walked away in the scene.
Lest I digress, Predators vs Predators vs Aliens might be good and not to mention where the human race falls in to all this would be a good story line. I just caution the producers not go over board and keep to the main plot of the story that stems from “Predators;Royce and Isabelle”. Too many sub-plots and poor videography could cause the crap salad that was “AVP: Requiem”. If you kill Dutch then that’s sh*tty, if Royce or Isabelle get whacked same! That being the reason for not doing a full screen script for Arnie. Besides he may try to dominate it when he should be supporting. You already have two strong characters in the movie that just went through hell and back. Why would they need another character telling them how it’s done? Isabelle has the intelligence on what the species has on technology.
A cameo at the end of this next sequel could make it or break it. I think it depends on the attention to detail that goes into this movie. I really like the story line here, it has a huge potential for the rest of us sci-fi geeks. Now that Lucas is “tinkering” with the Star Wars trilogy but, that’s a whole different kettle of crawdads. The Alien and Predator fans need a good movie a great one but, it doesn’t have to be one alone, it can be a culmination of a few good sequels that translate into a great story line. The original Star Wars episodes lV, V, Vl were great, individually and, great altogether. Of course two different genres but, notes can always be taken as to what makes a paltry movie and one that rocks the box office.
The Predator storyline can tie into so many sub-lines because it’s very versatile. They’re hunters and hunters of anything or anyone that’s why they fit into almost any storyline. You could make them fight cowboys, knights, cavemen, or a WWII battalion but, as long as the plot of the story is adhered to.
Mr. Rodriguez it seems you have your work cut out for you. Just remember although none of us on this blog are on the same level as you, with the ability both creatively and financially to produce our very own movie. We still spend our hard earned $$ on what we as a mass find entertaining and worthwhile for 2 hours out of our time. You are in a very special place to create and found a very strong genre with a great following. How you make movies is your business but, how we decide to follow a producer with a solid track record for making good movies is ours. I hope the next “Predators” is as good if not better than the first.

No, this is from the original final draft of Predators. They just couldn’t get Arnie to agree to shooting dates.
Thank God Arnold was not available to shoot this scene as it would have ruined the entire film. Hollywood constantly feeling the need to put characters from previous films in ridiculous scenarios for a sequel cameo is pointless.
Please don’t get me wrong as I have nothing against Arnold Schwartzenegger. Actually I’ve been a fan of Arnold all of my life and literally grew up watching his movies. Even idolized him in my weight lifting days. The first Predator movie has always been one of my favorite movies, but the mere mention by Isabelle of Dutch’s experience with the Predator in this film is enough in my opinion.
I LOVED THIS MOVIE THOUGH! Finally a Predator sequel worthy of it’s title! I sincerely hope they make Predators 2 with Adrian Brody starring again. I was very skeptical of him being in this type of role when I initially saw the teaser trailer months back. But I was convinced after the final fight scene! Can’t wait to buy it on blu ray!
Actually for Predators 2 it would be interesting if Royce and Isabelle manage to sneak onto one of the Predators ships in hopes to catch a ride back to Earth. Only to find themselves stranded on the Predators home world when they land!
Yeah not sure if I like that scene and I’m pretty happy Arnold couldn’t find the time to get it done. It would be great following Royce and Isabelle with a new batch of prey, man or alien (just not “aliens”; I love the AvP concept how it was done first, in the Dark Horse comics, but the movies f**k it up). I hope Predators 2 can follow up on what the original AvP Comics touched on, the society of the Predators, as Predators already started touching on the concept (with two different races of them having it out and so on). Also a closer look of the running alien (after the scene with the spine-hounds) and others new kinds would be nice.
They should begin any sequel, immedietely following the final scene. Let’s start right away, with the new arrivals, and have Brody take them directly to the ship to hide and forumlate a game plan.
dead set if arnie is gonna be in the sequel dont use a dumb sh*t scene like that as the other guy said mabye he could be dropped in with the new batch might work coz after all he would be fair game coz he did survive them b4 and i think there should be a better look into the 2 predator clans coz that intrested me alot and mabye a good/hero type of predator like in avp1 joins the humans dunno y need a good reason tho and yea like they mabye save its life from another creature or anything just sumfin creative and yea and my fav scene from this movie was the yakuza guy had a sword fight with 1 just was unique and wasn’t an explosion they should come up with alot of creative ways for people/predators and other creatures to die not always explosion or shot like a predator ripping someones jaw off ect something that makes you go HOLY SH*T!!!!!! and they need to bring in unique predators like dif colour armour diff helmets not the same gun on the shoulder mabye kind of like a beserker sort of 1 like its just a complete nutcase runs at them is really big like mabye twice the size of a normal 1 and just kinda like the juggernaught in xmen just runs through anything uses its hands not a gun or knife just basic grab u and tear u apart smash ur head against anything a nice and lovely ground head stomp would be nice abit of gore never hurt and yea soz for the long as comment but yea thats my idea’s for it and 1 last thing if you bring back the dam aliens make the fights a sh*tload better like aleins swarm them and yea not 1 on 1 every ten seconds and make the aliens as quick as they are in the dam game like fast paced action tail stabs biting slashing like a dam tiger just crazy thats all i got k peace
I did not know what to expect from Predators. But I liked it a lot. I am hoping there will be a sequel very soon. I would “guess” since they show nothing about how they were held and they had no memory of ever being on the ship. They could have been frozen for years. So I think it would be cool if in the sequel they place humans who are clearly from earth past.
In addition I am also guessing that writers want the humans who are chosen to be “predators” themselves. Individuals that anyone would clearly view as human predator and not of value to our society. And the “soldiers” they the Predators had taken where by happenstance sent by various government of earth in hope they would take out the alien.
It could be read into the script that Royce was deployed by his employer into an area where they thought he might take out one of the Predators. The same could be said with Russian and IDF sniper.
I would not use the Dutch character. Best thing would be other survivors like they pictured, mocked up with predator gear. As far as the spokes person, definitely not Arnie, sorry Gov but your time is over. No i think it should be Peter Mensah, from Spartacus: Blood and Sand. This i think would lead to Peter Mensah leading actor for the second film, which of course the first film explained how they got there, this second one goes in further and might explain the reason Laurence Fishburne character going crazy, say the vegetables he was eating. Though the thought of going to predator planet is silly! Who really wants to see that!
I know there was an original plan to have Arnold Schwarzenneger and Danny Glover in a sequel together – They could bring them back quite easily in future sequels after Predators too – that would be ace – I would like to see how Dutch and Harrigan’s characters work together using their different experiences to battle predators and maybe halfway through they somehow cross paths with the Royce and Isabel characters.
It would be interesting to see – but because the characters are so well loved – you wouldn’t really want to see any of them die (ie ALIEN3 made a mistake of killing all those brilliant characters from ALIENS which killed the whole movie etc).
So the storyline/script would have to be amazing for these 3 characters to even share the screen together and maybe choc full of other lovable characters.
Would be great having Dutch and Harrigan dropped onto the planet with maybe others that have beat the predator so it would be the predator,s best hunt, adding the other,s which have beat the predators would make killing them off easier so you are left with dutch harrigan royce and isabelle.
Start from where the last film finished to so the new elite bunch are the next drop off.
I recently watched predators and I was pleased with the movie. It was a bold and wise move to place it in a jungle setting like the first movie. I liked the Royce and Isabelle characters. There relationship was believable, with tensions, mistrust and eventually mutual respect. No jumping into bed in the third scene or other lame plot points. I also like the idea of introducing Schwarzenegger and Glover characters dropped from the sky on another part of the planet and having to work together, old men with lots of experience. As the previous blogger stated, they could eventually meet and team up with Royce and Isabelle after lots of carnage with other human killers being picked off. I believe more of the same but slightly different. I would also like to see the jungle environment becoming more hostile what with man-eating plants, man-eating creatures, quicksands, etc. Typical alien jungle stuff. This type of movie is a blank canvas of ideas.
Oh and all four main characters surviving for another sequel, just one more..that would be good..
..Oh I forgot to mention, please use the original title soundtrack from the first film, that is what I call EPIC!
