Despite being one of the first blockbusters out of the traps next year, the hype around Disney’s John Carter has been fairly muted thus far. Surprising perhaps, given that the film is based on a classic pulp sci-fi by Tarzan creator Edgar Rice Burroughs, is directed by WALL-E man Andrew Stanton, and has a script to which Yiddish Policemen’s Union author Michael Chabon has contributed. Maybe the just-released new trailer can finally ignite the hype inferno.

It feels like it has been forever in coming (I can recall writing about for one of my first Movie Moron pieces back in summer 2009), but Disney’s big screen adaptation of Edgar Rice Burroughs’ John Carter of Mars is finally gearing up towards a release early next year. A poster was released a few weeks back, and today we have the first trailer.
