Well to start off I am a huge movie fan just like the members of your site, I am 24 and obsessed with films!  I plan on writing screenplays for movies one day, ...hopefully!  I really like horror films, I can remember just being like 5 and my dad poppin in Hellraiser, Halloween, Freddy, Jason, Phantasm, and thats when my fascination with horror began.....just to let you know where I am comnig from.

I really enjoy what Michael Bay, Adam Form and Brad Fuller have been doing with there Platinum Dunes film releases, I believe that they have a real passion for these films and that it is not just all about the money! They also in my opinion do such a great job with there remakes, they bring a new true terror to their viewers.  I like how they're bringing out new talented directors and writers, I also think they do a great job on casting, the people the chose are new and young talented actors that are getting their names out into the film industry. They also bring out some great actors that have already made thier landmarks in film histoy. Like R. Lee Ermey (Chainsaw films), Dennis Quaid (The Horsemen), Gary Oldman (The Unborn), I mean I could go on!  I also appreciate how they bring in some of the orignal producers and cinematographers from the orignal films for their remakes!  They overall handle their film remakes with great care and deep thought!

Alot of people bash Platinum Dunes for what they are doing, makin remakes and all, I think if they dont gain the rights to this films then someone else will and to my opinion it would be hard to do it as good as they do!  They also have those other films which are not remakes like, The Unborn, Fiasco Nights and The Horsemen, After people watch those I think they will have a new found respect for Platinum Dunes, I read an article on an interview with Fuller I believe, or maybe Form, but they stated they've had the script for The Horsemen for a longtime, He said that it was the best script that he has ever read, and that Bay and Form agreed as well.  They werent going to do the film at first because they didnt believe that they could pull it off. They said they script for the movie was so erie and dark that it would be a tuff challenge for them to pursue, but after long talks and dilberations they decided to give it a shot and he said it is working out very well, so I am super siked about The Horsemen and am very curious about its release date!

I am also I HUGE fan of Friday The 13th, and I am even more excited about that film and cannot wait for Feb 13th!  I am also waiting for them to release an official trailer for the film, the bootleg one from Comic Con on the internet has such poor quailty, it disapoints me!

I also am very curious about their Nightmare On Elm Street film, I cannot find any info on the cast for that film, especially Kruger, I know who is the writer for the film (Wesley Strick), but to my knowledge their is no director set for the film, So I am on my toes for that info!

..and if you have any info on The Unborn and The Horsemen release dates keep me in mind!
Plus if anyone has some info or gets some info on the Nightmare On Elm Street's and Near Dark's cast and director!

Thank you so MUCH Everyone!

Please right me your thoughts and comments on my opinions!

Hi T.Ross, nice piece and great to see a new face contributing, especially in our beloved horror corner.
Personally, i only bash when i feel it deserves it and PD's output so far isn't really anything to write home about, while i enjoyed their TCM update the follow up was a scare-free event and lets not get started on the abominatin that was The Hitcher, they may was well have employed Gus Van Sant and be done with it.
The problem with comanies like PD, Dark Castle and even Ghost House Pictures is that they seem to think that we horror fans will watch any old dross.
They just dont get what made the films we love great in the first place, things like geuine scares, a great boogey man and naked wobbling womens chesticles.
So what we get is a watered down, horror-lite remake that either has none of the requirements or only suggests what we could have if they'd have given the controls over to someone who cares for our genre, until that happens we're going to be stuck with Sainsbury's own brand cola drink instea of The Real Thing.

I really appreciate your comments on my piece about Platinum Dunes, and Sheridan acknowleged the best part as well!!!

I like the perspective you have on remakes, you've open my eyes to a little more about the whole process of remakes.  And I agree about the Hitcher, that is my least favorite one.

Thanks a mill!!!
