Red Band Trailer For Kevin Smith's ZACK & MIRI MAKES A PORNO

Its an interesting time for those who made us laugh in the 90s -- Ben Stiller has reclaimed his title as comedic genius with TROPIC THUNDER, Adam Sandler's latest DON'T MESS WITH THE ZOHAN received an overwhelming "meh" (despite the assistance of current comedy powerhouse Judd Apatow)  while Eddie Murphy's MEET DAVE may have finally gone too far, losing his dwindling fan base of 9-year-olds. 

And for all intent and purposes the "spokesman for 90s comedy" Mike Myers' career should be buried deeper than the shitpile that was THE LOVE GURU.  Luckily for him he has received the Hollywood equivalence of the "Hail Mary Pass" by scoring a role (ironically enough replacing Adam Sandler) in Quentin Tarantino's WWII remake THE INGLORIOUS BASTARDS.  (Now this may be pure speculation on my part I strongly believe Myers was able to renegotiate his contract with Satan, allowing him this opportunity in exchange for an (after)lifetime commitment to torturing damned souls by eternally recreating his role as "The Cat In The Hat".)

But I digress . . .

While the above mentioned were the quintessential comedic actors of the 90s, the directorial counterpart would have to be Kevin Smith.  With an almost consistent slew of classic comedies in his filmography, Smith was the Judd Apatow of his day.  Unfortunately his career has languished a bit since the turn of the century with only the releases of the 
underwhelming JERSEY GIRL and criminally overlooked (and highly satisfying) CLERK 2.  Now comes the red-band trailer for Smith's latest ZACK AND MIRI MAKE A PORNO and it looks like a definite winner.  One of his smartest moves was to cast Hollywood's current hot comedy stars PINEAPPLE EXPRESS' Seth Rogan and Elizabeth Banks ("The Bathtub Chick" from THE 40-YEAR-OLD VIRGIN . . . Need I say more?)

Also keep an eye out for former underage porn star Traci Lords introducing a whole new, awesome way of blowing bubbles.

The teaser to this was amazing, and now having finally seen a full-length trailer, I just simply can't wait.  I'm thinking I should take my mother to see this.

It looks like Smith is back to redeem himself after Jersey Girl. I can't believe how sweet this trailer feels and it's about porn, I'm intrigued.

My friend saw the talk back session at Comic Con, and he said the best line was ad-libed by Justin Long:

"Shut your mouth or I'm gonna fuck it."

I'm going to have to use that a few times before any of my friends see the movie.  Maybe I can convince them that it's just a coincidence.
